"Do you know who to trust?" Late last night, Oscilloscope debuted the full trailer for the creepy indie sci-fi Coherence, from writer/director James Ward Byrkit. This time we get more of a sense of the story and tension in the film, which is about a group of eight friends at a dinner party who experience a "troubling chain of reality bending events." Say wha? Watch this trailer and you'll get an idea of what that means. The blonde one, seen just about everywhere including on the poster, is actress Emily Baldoni. We featured the first teaser last week for this Fantastic Fest film, and now we have a bit more without giving away too much.
Here's the full trailer for James Ward Byrkit's sci-fi Coherence, in high def direct from YouTube:
On the night a comet is passing near Earth, what starts as a simple dinner party turns into a sci-fi meltdown. When the power goes out, eight friends discover that the only house on the street left with power also holds many secrets. After investigating the illuminated house, a locked metal box is discovered and while the group tries to decipher the meaning of the box and its contents, tension rises and emotions get heated. Meanwhile, another party is dispatched to the strange house only to discover an even stranger phenomenon. Coherence is written and directed by James Byrkit, stars Emily Baldoni, Maury Sterling, Nicholas Brendon, Elizabeth Gracen and more. The film played Fantastic Fest and hits limited theaters starting June 20th.

The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street, one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes.

This looks like a total remake (ripoff/tribute?) to that episode of the Twilight Zone. Good call.

most sci fi and horror pulls from twilight zone, creep show comics and Tales from the Darkside, Tales from the Crypt and many other good shows

True. You forgot The Simpsons and South Park, too (the "Simpsons Already Did It" episode). Rod Serling was an amazing writer and filmmaker. This movie looks pretty watchable however.

Kinda the same idea from The Twilight Zone. The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street is episode twenty-two from the first season. Hopefully it'll be different.

I wouldn't call this a "sci-fi". Looks more like a horror/mystery/suspense with splash of sci-fi.

Sooo, the comet creates a parallel universe type thing and the "House with the lights on" is actually a duplicate version of the house they are having dinner in and they are investigating duplicates of themselves while the duplicates are investigating them??? I think i already figured it out
