Though she first made a big pop culture splash as one of the new "American Gladiators" on NBC, mixed martial artist Gina Carano has become an impressive action starlet in films like Haywire and Fast & Furious 6. Now she's on her own again with In the Blood, another action thriller which sees Carano playing a trained fighter with a dark past. Suddenly, she finds herself caught up in a conspiracy on a tropical island when her husband vanishes on their honeymoon. And so, Carano is off to bust skulls, find her husband, and figure out just what is going on. It doesn't look very good, but Carano kicks ass. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for John Stockwell's In the Blood, originally from Apple:
In the Blood is directed by John Stockwell (Blue Crush, Dark Tide) and written by James Robert Johnson & Bennett Yellin (Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead). Gina Carano (Haywire, Fast & Furious 6) stars as Ava, a trained fighter with a dark past. When her new husband (Cam Gigandet) vanishes during their Caribbean honeymoon, Ava uncovers a violent underworld of conspiracy in the middle of an island paradise. Armed with a deadly set of skills, Ava sets out to discover the truth – and to take down the men she thinks are responsible for his abduction, one by one. Anchor Bay Films will release the film on April 4th this spring.

I don't really think she is a good actress. But she can sure fight.

She might be okay at acting, I don't know, because her roles so far have been "Girl who can kick Ass" and thats about it. But she sure is good at the ass kicking part...

And still not. He says that he does not think she is a good actress, and I said she might be. They are close, yes, but still different... Time will tell, but I guess producers won't put an mma fighter in a role where "good" acting is needed, hehe

Haywire was one of fresh action movies for me. I love Carano.

Watch out for the flashback scenes between young Ava and her dad Stephen Lang...Those are not B-movie quality...Great acting mixed with action...
