Edge of Tomorrow

Right now you can get ahold of Edge of Tomorrow (which has been rebranded as Live Die Repeat) on Digital Download if you don't want to wait until the Blu-Ray & DVD is released on October 7th. And because there's some hype around the film, since not enough people saw it in theaters, there's an awesome video going around showing off some of the cool stunts, practical sets and and special effects from the set of the film. You get to see Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt rigged on a wire system to help them run faster in their mech suits, plus some real, big explosions and big sets with impressive moving pieces and whatnot. Watch!

Here's some cool B-roll footage from the set of Edge of Tomorrow (via SlashFilm):

Edge of Tomorrow is set in the distant future during war between a race of aliens called Mimics and the human race. A soldier fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in the battle, though he becomes better skilled along the way. Tom Cruise plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage, an untrained and ill-equipped officer who is dropped "into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission," but gets stuck in a time loop on the same mission. Doug Liman (Go, Bourne Identity, Jumper) is directing. Warner Bros. releasedEdge of Tomorrow, now Live Die Repeat, in theaters and now it's available on Digital Download.

Cruise rocks. I dont care what people say. Grew up with his movies. He always gives 100%. I also thought that Jumper was vastly underrated. Great effects and interesting story (minus the lame lead). Doug should direct a Bond movie. It would have a ton of better action then Mendez could ever dream of.

He is a good actor, no doubt, and most of his movies are pretty good and entertaining. That said the shit that comes out of his face when he is not reading lines is some of the dumbest shit I have heard come out of a celebrities pie slot.

Brian Sleider on Sep 16, 2014

Thats fine because it's irrelevant to my enjoyment of his movies. There are plenty of worse people spewing real BS right now then Cruise could ever top (IMO).

To be honest, he is naive, but in the interviews I have seen he is very nice and never mean spirited. His interview on The Nerdist podcast is brilliant.

DAVIDPD on Sep 16, 2014

Yeh I don't think he is a jack ass or anything. Just weird and dumb.

Brian Sleider on Sep 16, 2014

I wouldn't call him naive. Maybe just...strange. I mean Hollywood is strangeland, no? Anyways, cant wait to see what Doug is up to next!

Holy fuck I agree with something you said

Jon, sorry do you otherwise always disagree? 😉 Its ok you know. Just opinions...:)

Sascha Dikiciyan on Sep 16, 2014

Looks like tons of fun. It would take a few takes before I would lose my shit eating grin from doing all these stunts.

DAVIDPD on Sep 16, 2014

This movie was fun, I look forward to buying it.

Brian Sleider on Sep 16, 2014

it was a fun movie to watch and every Tom Cruise movie is above average...

Tom Cruise truly is underrated IMO as an actor. The guy is the quintessential Hollywood movie star.

Johnny Neat on Sep 18, 2014

People like hating on TC but the guy has balls when it comes to stunt work.
