Lately it seems like we've been doubly been seeing double. Just recently we saw the trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal's encounter with his doppleganger in Denis Villeneuve's Enemy, and now we have yet another tease of Jesse Eisenberg starring in The Double from Submarine director Richard Ayoade. The second theatrical trailer from the United Kingdom featuring the story of two snakes was a fantastic preview, and now we have another full length trailer, making the film almost feels like film noir meets Wes Anderson. In the film Eisenberg encounters a double of himself, who seems to be better working, socializing and almost every single facet of his life; he also has no problem inheriting all the perks that come with it. Watch!
Here's the newest UK trailer for Richard Ayoade's The Double, originally from Yahoo:
The Double is directed by Richard Ayoade (watch our TIFF interview with him here) who co-wrote the script with Avi Korine (brother of Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine), based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Double: A Petersburg Poem. The film follows Jesse Eisenberg as Simon, who arrives at work only to find an exact double of himself has usurped his tenuous position in the company. Routinely humiliated by his boss (played by Wallace Shawn), the neurotic Simon now has to deal with a doppelgänger that is everything he isn't: confident, charming, successful, superficial. Mia Wasikowska & Noah Taylor also star in the film which played at London, Toronto and Sundance before hitting the UK April 4th and the US on May 9th.

This looks great! Submarine was fantastic...this looks like it has the same weird humor. I'm in.

This better not be the kind of it-was-all-a-dream-movie or a only-jesse-thinks-his-double-looks-like-a-double-movie or a there-was-only-one-jesse-all-the-time-movie. That concept is permanently taken by Fightclub.
