We've seen an initial trailer for the biopic on labor activist Cesar Chavez, and the film was given the somewhat self-important title of Cesar Chavez: An American Hero. However, it seems the marketing department found out that title was doing too well, because the film is now just going by Cesar Chavez in the new trailer. It's Crash and American Hustle star Michael Pena in the lead as the famed civil rights leader and labor organizer torn between life as a husband and father and a commitment to getting a living wage for farm workers. John Malkovich, America Ferrera and Rosario Dawson also star in the film.
Here's the new trailer for Diego Luna's Cesar Chavez, originally from Yahoo:
Cesar Chavez is directed by Diego Luna (director of Abel, star of The Terminal, Y Tu Mamá También) and written by Keir Pearson (Hotel Rwanda). Michael Peña (Crash) leads the film as '60s and '70s labor activist Cesar E. Chavez as he organizes the largest non-violent protest in U.S. history to get basic human rights for over 50,000 farm workers in California. Lionsgate releases the film this spring on April 4th, 2014. Well?

I reiterate, love me some Pena, so it's a go for me.

Should be interesting. Highlighting a time when unions were actually a useful force for good instead of the leech on middle class wages to fund a useless bureaucracy of wealthy liberals that they are today. Guess what, if I can teach a high school sophomore to do your job in five minutes you don't need to be in a union (I'm looking at you SEIU and public sector unions). Electricians, plumbers, etc. carry on. And don't get me started on teacher's unions. Selling out our future for personal gain, delightful.
