"Who tried to kill me?!" "No one knows, no one but you…" A brand new official US trailer has debuted for Rowan Joffe's Before I Go to Sleep, a twist amnesia thriller about a woman who was assaulted and wakes up every day knowing nothing about her past. Oscar winner Nicole Kidman stars as that woman, along with a strong cast that includes Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Anne-Marie Duff. This trailer builds in intensity as it goes on, eventually turning into a wild thriller about deception and memory, but I'm not sure if I'm sold on anything other than the cast. Is the twist really that remarkable? Let us know what you think.
Here's the latest official US trailer for Rowan Joffe's Before I Go to Sleep, originally from Yahoo:
Check out the first official UK trailer for this film as well, which was posted in July. Stay tuned for updates.
Before I Go to Sleep is written/directed by Rowan Joffe (Brighton Rock), based on S.J. Watson's best-selling novel of the same name. A woman (Nicole Kidman) wakes up every day, remembering nothing as a result of a traumatic accident in her past. One day, new terrifying truths about an attempt on her life emerge that force her to question everyone around her, including her husband (Colin Firth). Mark Strong and Anne- Marie Duff also star in the film which Clarius Entertainment debuts on September 12th this fall. Curious?

"Okay, I want to make a movie. It will be like memento, but shit" If that's what they were going for, I'd say 'spot on'

Ugh. Creepy. Firth fits the role, but I wish he had chosen something else. Oh well. I will probably check it out eventually.

I thought the book was very good for a first time effort. By the way, if you have not read Daphne Du Maurier's classic Rebecca, do so. Its the same genre. The Hitch c o c k (you get edited if you don't spread out his name) film version is not entirely faithful, but very good. The BBC versions with Jeremy Brett (Sherlock Holmes before Cumberbatch, Miller and company) and another with Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) are both very good. Brett is fantastic as Maxim De Winter and Dianna Rigg is equally good as Mrs. Danvers.

I love Colin Firth and will see him in anything. I liked the book very much. Mark Strong doesn't fit the physical description of Dr, Nash at all. Well he is an excellent actor and it looks like they changed the plot so that his age is appropriate so maybe it will be a fit after all. Funny how these actors have worked together so many times before. Firth and Strong in Fevor Pitch (the real one, not the horrible Drew Barrymore Jimmy Fallon remake), Tinker Tailor Solder Spy and Kingsman, Anne Marie Duff, with Firth in Born Equal, Nicole Kidman with Firth in Railway man, this and the upcoming Genius.

"You want the truth? I'll tell you the truth! I've roofied you every night for eleven years!" ...so fucking obvious.

That you need to curse in your post shows your intellectual and emotional level. That of a child. I read the book. You are wrong and ignorant. If you can't say something intelligent and cogent, keep it to yourself. Folks I would tell you what Firth means, but it would be a major spoiler for everyone. Lets just say the truth is heartbreaking.

Hahahaha...yes, it's clear from those twenty words that I have the intellect and emotional content of a child. I wasn't guessing or assuming anything. I was being funny... At least I was trying to be for those who remembered to bring their sense of humor before they climbed up onto their pedestal. Congratulations on being a judgemental ass on the internet. You're a trailblazer.
