"You can't get rid of The Babadook." After premiering at the Sundance Film Film Festival at the beginning of the year, the Australian horror flick The Babadook has made rounds to a bunch of other festivals, has already hit the big screen down under, and is poised to hit theaters in the United Kingdom on October 24th. Sadly, there's still no word on a release in the United States, but at least we get another glimpse of the film by way of a quick new trailer, showcasing the horror film that looks creepy in all the right ways. Could The Babadook become one of those terrors we all come to fear in the future, like Freddy Krueger? Watch!
Here's the new trailer for Jennifer Kent's The Babadook from Total Film:
Do you want to die?!” seven-year-old Samuel asks his stressed-out single mother, Amelia. But is it a threat or a warning. After dealing with Samuel’s frantic tantrums his entire life, Amelia suspects that her son has begun directing his violent misbehavior toward her. However, after a dark and foreboding children’s book called Mister Babadook mysteriously appears on Samuel’s bookshelf, Amelia must decide if her son is truly deranged, or if there really is a bogeyman lurking in their darkened halls at night. Essie Davis and Noah Wiseman star in The Babadook, written and directed by Jennifer Kent, which premiered at Sundance and hits the United Kingdom on October 24th. The film is waiting for US distribution so stay tuned. Creepy?
