We've already seen The Double after it premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, and it popped up again at Sundance last month. Now the film is poised to hit screens in the United States early this summer (after hitting overseas in the spring) and a new trailer from across the pond is here. This trailer takes a unique approach by using the story of two snakes, which is a way of looking at this story of a man (Jesse Eisenberg) who encounters his doppleganger who begins to invade his life by doing everything better than him. Be sure to check out our interview with director Richard Ayoade and watch the trailer!
Here's the new UK trailer for Richard Ayoade's The Double from Studio Canal UK:
The Double is directed by Richard Ayoade (watch our TIFF interview with him here) who co-wrote the script with Avi Korine (brother of Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine), based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Double: A Petersburg Poem. The film follows Jesse Eisenberg as Simon, who arrives at work only to find an exact double of himself has usurped his tenuous position in the company. Routinely humiliated by his boss (played by Wallace Shawn), the neurotic Simon now has to deal with a doppelgänger that is everything he isn't: confident, charming, successful, superficial. Mia Wasikowska & Noah Taylor also star in the film which played at London, Toronto and Sundance before hitting the UK April 4th and the US on May 9th.

This really sells me on Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

Impressive work from Ayoade. Eisenberg looks like he's giving a peak performance.
