Watch: Shailene Woodley in New Trailer for 'White Bird in a Blizzard'

Before premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, we saw an otherworldly teaser for White Bird in a Blizzard, the drama starring Shailene Woodley (Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars), directed by Gregg Araki (Smiley Face). Now the film is poised for release this fall, and the first full trailer has arrived, and it paints a much more conventional picture. Woodley plays Kat Connors, a teenage girl who feels relief from her repressed adolescence when her beautiful homemaking mother (Eva Green) suddenly disappears. But that feeling doesn't last long as she realizes just how much she needed her mother to keep order in her life.

White Bird in a Blizzard is written and directed by Gregg Araki (Smiley Face, Kaboom). Based on the acclaimed novel by Laura Kasischke, the film tells the story of Kat Connors (Shailene Woodley of The Spectacular Now and The Descendants), a young woman whose life is turned upside down by the sudden disappearance of her beautiful, enigmatic mother (Eva Green of Casino Royale and Dark Shadows). Christopher Meloni, Shiloh Fernandez, Gabourey Sidibe, Thomas Jane and more also star in the film which premiered at Sundance and opens on VOD on September 25th with a limited theater run October 24th.
