Sin City: A Dame to Kill for

Well, nine years later, the audience who enjoyed Sin City in 2005 just doesn't seem to be very interested in the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, because the film bombed at the box office this past weekend. Personally, I didn't find the film to be terrible, but just more of the same coming far too late. But there are still some cool visuals to be seen (especially Eva Green), and having a movie with pretty much all the environments created in post-production is pretty impressive. And if you want to see what it's like for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller to shoot a film in this manner, essentially without a real set, some B-roll footage has surfaced. It has to be really difficult to act in a film like this with nothing on set. Watch!

Here's a couple chunks of B-roll from Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (via JoBlo):

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is directed by Robert Rodriguez who co-wrote the script with William Monahan (The Departed) and Frank Miller, creator of the graphic novel series and co-director of the first film. Dwight (Josh Brolin) is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Eva Green), and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to "The Big Fat Kill" (seen in the first Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face. Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Juno Temple, Jaime King, Rosario Dawson and many more star in the film shot in 3D and Dimension Films released the sequel to theaters last weekend on August 22nd. Did you see it?

Definitely needs the effects. I wish this turned out better for all the actors' sake.

Yes, but is it worse than The Spirit?
