Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

From our Comic-Con coverage this year, you might have already seen the cool vehicles that were on display from Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. But there was also a panel for the film hitting theaters next month, and directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller debuted a new red band trailer for the graphic novel adaptation, not to mention planting a seed of hopes for Sin City 3. But of course, since it took nine years to get this follow-up off the ground and into theaters, we won't hold our breath. But still, if you've been waiting that long to see this new story set in the seedy underbelly of Basin City, this saucy, bloody trailer certainly brings the goods. Keep an eye out for Miller and Rodriguez making cameos in the trailer too. Watch below!

Here's the kick-ass red band trailer from Comic-Con for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, on YouTube:

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is directed by Robert Rodriguez who co-wrote the script with William Monahan (The Departed) and Frank Miller, creator of the graphic novel series and co-director of the first film. Dwight (Josh Brolin) is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Eva Green), and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to "The Big Fat Kill" (seen in the first Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face. Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Juno Temple, Jaime King, Rosario Dawson and many others star in the film being shot in 3D and Dimension Films will send the sequel to theaters on August 22nd this summer. Damn. That was way better than any of the other trailers so far. The previous ones haven't done anything for me, but this one reminded me how much fun the first Sin City was.

It's been way too long...

Each trailer released for this has been progressively better. Sure, it has been 9 years, and that stinks(If they got these out every 3 years we could have had 3 Sin City sequels by now) but I'm glad they finally got around to doing it. Hopefully in the cases of 300: Rise of an Empire and this film...the potential 3rd entries won't take nearly as long to get made as the 2nd.

Of course, the movie needs to be successful if we hope to see another...but then again I thought I heard them talk about a TV series...if they could get a deal with Showtime or HBO and manage to keep the style without it looking cheap, I'd be all for it. And if they could keep all of the respective cast-members. I'm one of those that really loved the 2nd 300 movie, and the way it was structured kind of made you want to see some kind of 'conclusion'. These films are deeply in the 'historical fantasy' realm at this point. I'd like to see Stapleton, Wenham, and Headey leading the next film, and eventually kill Xerxes in the 'final battle' teased at the end of the first film.

There was not one thing about that trailer that I disliked.....ok maybe it could have used more boobs

I wonder why they don't have a poster of Eva Green saying: "EVA GREEN is A DAME TO KILL FOR". Who could disagree.

Looks good, just hope Jessica Alba doesn't get too much screen time, that could really be a killer.

Was that Frank Miller in the trailer of this trailer?

Eva Green is shaping up to be the best thing about this movie.

OK, that looked fucking great! I've been skeptical, but that actually felt like it'll be a worthy follow-up.

This is shaping up to be the greatest movie ever.

Hmmm see now I'm on board. Damn it shouldn't have taken so long to make this. He decides to make that awful Machete Kills instead of this? Or those awful Spy Kids films? Come on Robert! Lol

This is pure awesomeness!

Been waiting a long time. I think it will be worth it, I like this trailer. 3D should be awesome and the new cast additions. Really looking forward to Dennis Haysbert as Manute. Great actor. Can't wait!

Haha, loved Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez's cameo at the beginning. And, man, that really was a long trailer... but I'll be damned if it didn't kick ass!
