Just before premiering at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, we got a teaser for Fading Gigolo, written by, directed by and starring John Turturro. In a surprising move, Woody Allen has taken a rare acting role outside of his own films to play a bookseller who concocts a plan to turn his middle-aged friend (Turturro) into a gigolo. With customers like Sofia Vergara and Sharon Stone, the gig doesn't sound too bad, and it looks like there might be some romance in the mix when Vanessa Paradis comes along. The trailer has the vibe of a Woody Allen film, especially being set in New York City, so hopefully it's a good one.
Here's the new trailer for John Turturro's Fading Gigolo from Yahoo:
Fading Gigolo is written and directed by John Turturro (director of Romance & Cigarettes, star of Transformers and O Brother Where Art Thou?). In the film, iconic director Woody Allen takes a role outside of his own films for the first time in over a decade to play a bookseller-turned-pimp to a middle-aged neophyte hustler (Turturro), in this New York City comedy. Bob Balaban, Vanessa Paradis, Live Schreiber, Sharon Stone and Sofia Vergara also star in the film which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and Millennium Entertainment releases in limited theaters on April 18th this spring. Good?
