Will Ferrell to Lead Untitled Shakespeare Theater Comedy at Sony
We're still waiting to get a glimpse at the comedy Get Hard starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart after the first trailer was delayed from release last week to sometime this week (though you may have already seen it if you saw Horrible Bosses 2 over the weekend). In the meantime, Ferrell has already lined up a new comedy at Sony Pictures that was developed at Mosaic, the production and management company that represents the Anchorman star and has produced several of his biggest films. The project is a currently untitled comedy that takes place in the intense, competitive world of a Shakespearean theater company. More below!
Could we be looking at another Talladega Nights or Blades of Glory? This certainly feels like it would be a comedy in that same vein. However, with Variety reporting the script comes from Dinner for Schmucks scribes David Guion & Michael Handelman, there's a chance this might not work as well as Ferrell's previous efforts. The writing duo also worked on Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, so some probably will be even less excited by their involvement. Still, when it comes to Ferrell's comedies, I'm always hoping for the best. Don't forget that Ferrell also has Border Guards reteaming him with John C. Reilly.
