Zack Snyder Has More Fun with 'Batman v. Superman' & 'Star Wars'

During Comic-Con, director Zack Snyder had a little bit of fun by posting a picture of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice star Henry Cavill in his Superman suit, but most of it was obscured by a robe. But what made the photo truly interesting was the addition of a red lightsaber from Star Wars for the British actor to hold. Snyder used the hashtag #SuperJedi, but he really looked more like a Sith. Well, over the weekend, Snyder decided to have a little more franchise mash-up fun, and he posted a new photo of what appeared to be Ben Affleck as Batman in the desert alongside R2-D2. However, this fun little picture was a little more tricky photographically than anyone initially anticipated. Is Snyder trolling? Look below!
Here's what Batman v. Superman director Zack Snyder posted on Twitter over the weekend:

But then the Batman v. Superman set photographer Clay Enos offered up this image for perspective:

That's Zack Snyder playing in the dirt with a couple of action figures of Batman and R2-D2. The photo was framed perfectly with the right perspective to fool everyone. After all, it would have been weird if they took the time to have Ben Affleck walk out into the desert in full Batman suit alongside a full size R2-D2 replica. But again, why the hell is Snyder doing this? Really it just seems like he's having fun between takes on the set, which is always nice to see. More practically, what better way to get more attention on Batman v. Superman than to catch the attention of Star Wars fans?Just plain old fun or viral marketing to the max?

I'm not sure if Snyder realizes that he is essentially using one of the most anticipated movies ever(Batman v Superman) to indirectly promote one of the OTHER most anticipated movies ever(Star Wars Episode 7). I'm sure Disney and Abrams are thanking him for doing their work for them.

I felt like the picture of Cavill in Sith robes was an allusion to Darkseid, one DC's most dangerous villains, and now Snyder is trying to backpedal that revelation by posting this pointless photo...

Fantastic! A Batman/R2D2 movie would be epically boring but awesome.

What Zack Snyder is telling us, is that BvS is going to premier closer to SW:Episode VIII. BvS is right now filming, and May 2016 is too far away. Maybe is there a chance to BvS shares November 2015 with Star Wars. Or maybe the same weekend!

I think Zack is just really bummed that he didn't get Star Wars and now he's looking for creative ways to create buzz around his new film. I still hope he gets to do more original films though, because I really enjoyed Sucker Punch.
