'Zombieland 2' is Back to Life with Ruben Fleischer Directing Again
It's been nearly four years since we heard anything solid about Zombieland 2, and the project was once thought to be in the immediate future of director Ruben Fleischer, but there hasn't been any real progress. The project was assumed dead, but Deadline reports the sequel is now back to life, and Fleischer is returning to direct. As for the script, Dave Callaham (The Expendables, Doom) is tackling the project, coming off a story credit on this summer's successful return of Godzilla at Legendary Pictures. However, it should be noted that Fleischer doesn't have a deal to direct yet, though it doesn't sound like a problem.
As for the original cast, it's not clear who will return for the sequel. Emma Stone has blown up since starring in the 2009 film, and Woody Harrelson has been busy with The Hunger Games franchise and "True Detective" has made him more popular than ever. Jesse Eisenberg is playing Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and will likely stick around to wreak more havoc for Justice League, so he'll be busy. As for Abigail Breslin, she's actually playing a zombie in the indie Maggie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It sounds like the project is just now getting back together so stay tuned for more updates.

The Amazon show or whatever was the worst. If they can get all the actors back, I would be very happy.

agreed and seconded... that show was in fact... the worst.

What's the Amazon show? I assume it does not involve tall strong women or the rainforest...

Well they don't necessarily need those actors. There are a million possible stories in zombie-apocalypse America. What are other people out there doing? As long as there are more god actors.

Thought the first one was meh, so not excited for a sequel. There are better zombie shows and movies.
