Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is Joining 'Suicide Squad' as Killer Croc

The primary cast of Warner Bros. Pictures' forthcoming adaptation of DC Comics' property Suicide Squad is all assembled with Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Jared Leto as The Joker. Plus, Jay Hernandez is on board as El Diablo and Viola Davis is playing Amanda Waller. But yet another name has joined the cast as The Wrap reports "Lost" star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is taking the role of Waylon Jones, aka Killer Croc, a reptilian supervillain known for giving Batman a fair share of trouble.
For those interested, Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be crossing over from the Marvel cinematic universe where he played a dark elf villain turned beast in Thor: The Dark World. In addition, Suicide Squad will actually reunite the actor with Will Smith, who both star in the football drama Concussion produced by Ridley Scott. Akinnuoye-Agbaje will also be seen in "Game of Thrones" soon, so he's making the rounds of properties with rabid fanbases, which should be old territory for him after his turn as Mr. Eko on "Lost." The only thing that would sweeten his status would be a role in the Star Wars saga.
In addition, The Wrap also recently revealed that The Longest Ride star Scott Eastwood (son of Clint Eastwood) will be taking a role in Suicide Squad as well. The actor is said to be playing Steve Trevor, a character from the DC Comics universe who was a love interest of Wonder Woman. Could this be a red herring, or will this just be another thread that ties the film to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice? Speaking of which, as a bonus detail, Latino Review has revealed that Suicide Squad will take place between Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, so do with that what you will. Thoughts?

Hope this stays grounded, don't like the ideea of transforming it into something childish and immature, there is marvel for that already.

DC movies have a different tone, a serious tone that creates a realistic feel to them. Just because Croc is in this, doesnt mean it will be "childish and immature".

the Batman films had a "realistic feel". Superman tried it and it was a Disaster porno equipped with Supes killing tons of people. the other DC films: not so much, how about GL? this is mostly a reply to the OP who sounds like he's a DC fanboy, so regardless of how good or bad the DC movies are, he'll still say they're better than Marvel.

That's the most childish and immature opinion I've heard

I'm so stoked I got to see The Lizard in ASM2 and now I get to see Killer Croc in the DC universe. I've loved all this reptilian villains. And you know, as stoked as I am that Ade keeps getting all these roles....he was still one of my top picks to play Black Panther. Ade second to Djimon Hounsou.

Still boycotting.

Why? You are commenting with excitement on every Marvel news, now matter how mediacore it is. So I bet you'r into comic films, yet you are boycotting this before seeing any footage...

Because two reasons: 1. I feel like Suicide Squad stole Sinister Six spotlight for being announced for an earlier elease date, and SS had a release date first. And now SS is delayed, or worse, cancelled and Suicide Squad is just chilling with attention. 2. I'm an immature Marvel fanboy who boycotts every DC movie no matter how hyped they are but still follows DC news for comparing.

I'm also a bit of a marvel fanboy in general. But Batman and joker and the whole 'batverse' is at least as good as anything Marvel has created, or even better. Just bring me great stories and characters, studious name doesn't matter. รlรค ole fanipoika.

As i predicted - bitter marvel fanboy who loves 10 year old jokes and cheesiness. Enjoy all your neat and shiny CGI action and kid-like humor.

Well I'll rather have that than dull, colourless visuals, humourless & unimpressive dialogue and non-mindblowing action.

Haha. Even your rebuttles sound like right out of a cheesy Marvel script. Oh you kids.
Rock n Rollllll on Apr 1, 2015

Considering all Marvel Cinematic Universe movies cheesy scripts gain better reviews than Man Of Steel, I take that as a compliment.

Well yeah sure, cause they're all reviews done by middleschoolers.

I didn't know Variety and other film magazines are run by middleschoolers.

David Ayer will blow us away, simple! Great fucking director...

If Ayer wasn't directing, I would start to get concerned that this will end up in a complete mess. Non the less, this is starting to sound more and more interesting as it progresses.

OMG YES! I never woulda thought Adebisi for killer croc, just some "meh" or worse "actor" near 7ft. This is probably the best comic casting ever, as nobody ever dominated and struck fear into a community of killers and lunatics like Adebisi did in Oz.

Holy crap, almost thought you were going to leave a nice comic book comment! Classic Bo.
