There's a lot of artificial intelligence hitting the big screen this year. Next week brings Neill Blomkamp's Chappie and in April we have Alex Garland's Ex Machina followed by The Avengers: Age of Ultron in May. Well, next month The Weinstein Company will bring another into the mix with Eva. This is the first time the film is coming to the United States, but it opened on screens overseas all the way back in 2011. Daniel Bruhl (Rush, A Most Wanted Man) stars in the film as a cybernetic engineer tasked with giving emotional intelligence to the first robot child. But he has to learn a bit from his brother's daughter Eva first. Watch!
Here's the US trailer for Kike Maíllo's Eva straight from YouTube:
It's 2014. Humans live along with machines. Alex, a renowned cybernetic engineer, returns to Santa Irene to carry out a very specific mission for the Robotic Faculty: the creation of a child robot. During his ten-year absence, Alex's brother David and his wife Lana, got their life back together after his departure. Alex's routine is altered in an unexpected way by Eva, Lana and David's amazing daughter. She and Alex have a special connection from the moment they meet. They set out on a journey together, which will bring them to a revelatory end. Eva is directed by Kike Maíllo and written by Marti Roca, Cristina clemente, Aintza Serra and Sergi Belbel. The Weinstein Company gives the film a limited release on March 13th. Interested?

Ex Mechina was brilliant. Can't wait to read people's opinions on here. This film looks very interesting too. Surprised I hadn't heard anything about it in the last four years. Madness! Thanks for bringing this to our attention guys
