Good Kill

Early this year, the time travel thriller Predestination with Ethan Hawke hits theaters, but it looks like we might get a double dose of the Boyhood star because the drone pilot drama Good Kill just released an international trailer. Hit or miss sci-fi director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, In Time) is at the helm of this film that follows Hawke as a fighter pilot who has adapted with technology and become a drone pilot. However, the task of piloting a drone for 12 hours a day and carrying out targeted kills from thousands of miles away just doesn't feel right for the Air Force veteran. It looks like we might get some provocative political commentary on drones, not unlike what Niccol delivered with Lord of War before. Watch below!

Here's the first international trailer for Andrew Niccol's Good Kill from Voltage Pictures:

Check out the bold red teaser poster for Andrew Niccol's Good Kill right here.

Good Kill is written and directed by Andrew Niccol (In Time, Lord of War, Gattaca). A fighter-pilot turned drone-pilot (Ethan Hawke), based in Las Vegas, fights the Taliban by remote control for twelve hours a day, then goes home to the suburbs and feuds with his wife and kids for the other twelve. But the pilot is starting to question the mission. Is he creating more terrorists than he’s killing? Is he fighting a war without end? One soldier’s tale with epic implications. January Jones, Bruce Greenwood, Zoe Kravitz and Jake Abel star in the film which IFC Films will distribute, but a United States release date has not been set. Interested?

Looks good...kind of a slow burn. Zoe Kravitz is very beautiful...she needs to step her acting up and get a better agent

yes every movie with ethan hawke is worth watching, and he picks good roles but hasn't got the x factor. Already seen predestination and i liked it allot and the timetravel aspect of it is worked out fine...

Drone murder is bizarre. Coming to a neighbourhood near you...

January Jones is really changing it up with this role!

From the same director who made two massive underrated movies, Lord of War and Gattaca? Count me in!

gattaca is a classic movie and should be praised more...

In spite of his flops (which are still mostly a little defensible. Except for the Host), Niccol is one of my favorite directors. Can't wait for this.

Eh... I dunno. This trailer seemed about as exciting as talking to a bunch of marines about your 1st person shooting experience in battlefield 4 on xbox 1. Throw in some January Jones, some anger at inanimate objects (like picture frame), blow up some kids although it was pretty clear they could have aborted the first bombing until after the kids passed since the two guys they killed were sitting doing nothing... etc etc and you got yourselves a film.

the time to question the role in the war ...

Why, may I ask, should I be excited about this movie? Or any of us for that matter? It's all philosophy and ideology. Who are they trying to, ahem...trying to target here, as their audience, gamers? Apparently I should feel bad for the villages I destroy in Far Cry 4?

The story looks good.

I will be watching this one! I think the actors will bring out the best in the film's somewhat strange plot.

Hm, may have to check this out.
