First Draft of Kevin Smith's 'Mallrats' Sequel 'MallBrats' Ready to Go

Briefly: This is mostly just to write about the new title of Kevin Smith's Mallrats sequel, and also share his tweet of the completed draft of the script. A few weeks ago we heard that Smith was apparently readying Mallrats 2 before Clerks 3 because of some production craziness involving the perfect "big old empty mall, and it would be nice if we could do things to the mall". It seems as if they're sticking to that plan, as Smith has posted a photo of his finished draft of the Mallrats 2 script which includes the title MallBrats. Is that the name of this sequel? Hopefully it is, as Smith introduced a #MallBrats hashtag in his tweet, too.
Here's the photo Kevin Smith posted for MallBrats, showing the title page of the screenplay and a message:
20 years in the making. 113 pages fulla old friends & new jokes. This is for you, Jim. Wish you were here. #MallBrats pic.twitter.com/O6HfIWbRY6

The "Jim" he's referencing in this tweet is Jim Jacks, a producer on the first Mallrats (and Dazed and Confused, The Mummy), who desperately wanted to see them make a sequel. He unfortunately passed away in 2014 before he could see it happen. Via SlashFilm, at one point one version was in development called Mallrats 2: Die Hard in a Mall. While they hadn't been in touch, Jacks death re-inspired Smith to make another Mallrats. The entire story can be heard here. Over the past few months casting details have been arriving - Jeremy London, Ethan Suplee, Joey Lauren Adams, Claire Forlani, Brian O'Halloran, Sven-Ole Thorsen, Renée Humphrey & Scott Mosier are all confirmed to return so far. Stay tuned @ThatKevinSmith.

Mallbrats? Sounds like Smith's & Depp's kids are gonna be in it!

Double post yeah, but I got something to say (this time)! Can we petition Marvel to do a cameo with one of the actors visiting the comic store? Or maybe Kevin Fiege, not just Stan Lee (again). Maybe an in-joke, easter egg, or better yet a teaser for a future film! Just wishing...
