Mustang First Trailer

"Everything changed in a blink of an eye." Cohen Media Group has debuted the official US trailer for Deniz Gamze Ergüven's Mustang, a film that premiered at Cannes and has been winning awards at other festivals as it plays this year. Mustang is set in the north of Turkey, about five sisters who "fight back against the limits imposed on them". I've heard some rave reviews about this, including one from Darren Aronofsky who tweeted from TIFF about the film: "holy shit. how good is #mustang !?" From the looks of it, very good. I am more than intrigued by the footage in this trailer, and from here I just can't wait to catch a screening. The film opens in November in select theaters right during the awards season. In the meantime, take a look.

Here's the first trailer for Deniz Gamze Ergüven's Mustang, found on YouTube (via The Playlist):

It’s the beginning of the summer. In a village in the north of Turkey, Lale and her four sisters come home from school, innocently playing with boys. The supposed debauchery of their games causes a scandal with unintended consequences. The family home slowly turns into a prison, classes on housework and cooking replace school, and marriages begin to be arranged. The five sisters, driven by the same desire for freedom, fight back against the limits imposed on them. Mustang is directed by French-Turkish filmmaker Deniz Gamze Ergüven, from a screenplay co-written by Deniz Gamze Ergüven and Alice Winocour. It first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and won awards at other fests. Cohen Media will open Mustang in select US theaters starting November 20th this fall. France is submitting this for their Oscar selection.

Movie looks really worth watching but arranged marriages, hahahahaha, that's insane. Like something from the olden days. I remember my friends sister at school fell out with her family for them trying to get her into an arranged marriage, they were Italian Catholics.

Looks like some nice lolitas in this film.

I always endorse such kind of stories. This marriage arranging is disgusting. Girls are harnessed like they are horse or something. And I love see people in Muslim countries fighting for the freedom over harsh tradition ...

I downloaded the song for free just by googling it. Type in "Buckley Get Your Gun mp3" and you'll see a link under a site called MP3LIO and there's a download button on the right.
