"It would be easier to rob a bank than to break into Area 51." After striking it big in 2009 with Paranormal Activity, the next project that director Oren Peli embarked upon was another found footage thriller, this one venturing into one of the most legendary places on Earth: Area 51. The film has been waiting around for years, and now Paramount Insurge and Alamo Drafthouse are finally releasing it day and date with several digital platforms next month, but it'll only be in theaters for one weekend only. It's exactly what you would expect from a found footage horror thriller focused on Area 51, but it's R-rated, so maybe it'll be fun?
Here's the first trailer for Oren Peli's Area 51, originally from Apple:
Area 51 is directed by Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) who co-write the script with Christopher Denham. Three young conspiracy theorists attempt to uncover the mysteries of Area 51, the government’s top secret location rumored to have hosted encounters with alien beings. What they find at this hidden facility exposes horrifying, unimaginable secrets. Now you can experience what happened in this footage pieced together from documentation of these chilling events. Reid Warner, Jamel King, Ben Rovner and Jelena Nik star in the film which Paramount Insurge will release on VOD and Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas on May 15th.

I have to admit that the whole "found footage" film has run it's course with me. I thought the Blair Witch was fresh and interesting, but now every other movie tries to do this found footage thing and I just don't dig it anymore. Not saying it's bad, and others certainly must like it since they keep pumping out these types of movies. But I myself are over them.

Jingoism is patriotism in the form of aggressive foreign policy. Jingoism also refers to a country's advocacy for the use of threats or actual force, as opposed to peaceful relations, in efforts to safeguard what it perceives as its national interests.
