"Sounds have soul… build them from scratch, find new ones." Warner Bros has debuted the first full trailer for We Are Your Friends, starring Zac Efron as a budding DJ/producer in the Electronic Dance Music (commonly referred to as "EDM") scene in Los Angeles. Don't throw this one out just yet. But I will say… This looks like Hollywood already remade the French house music film Eden (see the trailer for that film here), and turned into something a bit more Hollywood, with more spectacle and sleaze all around. This doesn't look bad, and each has their own quirks, just an interesting observation. The cast includes Emily Ratajkowski, Wes Bentley, Shiloh Fernandez and Jon Bernthal. Give it a spin, turn up the volume.
Here's the first official trailer for Max Joseph's We Are Your Friends, direct from Warner Bros:
Set in the world of electronic music and Hollywood nightlife, an aspiring 23-year-old DJ named Cole (Efron) spends his days scheming with his childhood friends and his nights working on the one track that will set the world on fire. All of this changes when he meets a charismatic but damaged older DJ named James (Bentley), who takes him under his wing. Things get complicated, however, when Cole starts falling for James' much younger girlfriend, Sophie (Ratajkowski). With Cole’s forbidden relationship intensifying and his friendships unraveling, he must choose between love, loyalty, and the future he is destined for. We Are Your Friends is directed by Max Joseph from a screenplay he co-wrote with Meaghan Oppenheimer, from a story by Richard Silverman. Warner Bros will release We Are Your Friends in theaters on August 28th.

It'll be good to see the bit where he leaves his memory stick st the hairdressers then has a nervous breakdown because he can't actually do anything, with Paris Hilton taking over to show him how to drop the bass.
