Guy Ritchie Shows Off First Look at His 'Knights of the Roundtable'

Guy Ritchie

As we await the arrival of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. this August (the first trailer doesn't look half bad), director Guy Ritchie is already in production on his next film, the medieval action drama Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur. Taking the title role is "Sons of Anarchy" and Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam, and we get a glimpse at the actor in the role as Ritchie has just posted a photo from the set of the film, showing off a set in the middle of the woods. No sign of any of the other cast members yet, but we're bound to get a look at them later this year since the film is already slated for release next summer. Look!

Here's a first look at Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur from Guy Ritchie's Twitter:

Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur is directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) and written by Joby Harold (Awake). Charlie Hunnam stars in the title role in a film that is meant to kick off a six-film series of films under the Knights of the Round Table banner. Asrid Berges-Frisbey (I Origins) plays Guinivere, Eric Bana (The Time Traveler's Wife) plays Arthur's father Uther Pendragon, Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes) plays the villain Vortigern and Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator) will play Arthur's mentor Sir Bedivere. Warner Bros. Pictures releases the film next summer July 22nd, 2016.

Guy Ritchie I like but a new Arthur movie I don't get... Thousand original stories outthere and still are old ones recycled.... It must be for the money, you do this and we get you money for the one you realy want to make! This doesn't mean this will not be great, every guy Ritchie movie is fun to watch!

Of course they want money, directors and studios need more money to make more films, duh 😀 But since it's ahead planned for 6 film series, I believe there are other reasons than money making for this kind of ambitious project. Lets just hope audiences are interested for this film so they can make this series 6 films long (or maybe more?) as planned.

Whoa. SIX films. Missed that somehow. Pretty lofty aspirations there.

six films in theory that is....financing will fall thru for more if the first one bombs. How many times are they going to recycle this story and Robin Hood?!!
