J.J. Abrams & Kathleen Kennedy to Kick Off Star Wars Celebration
"There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?" It's a big year for Star Wars fans. Not only is Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming out this year, but there's also another Star Wars Celebration happening in Anaheim, California. These conventions for fans only happen every three years in the United States, but it will have been four years since the last one happened, and it couldn't be a better year. Fans have been wondering what will be happening at the big event with Episode VII on the way, and now director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy have been announced to appear.
StarWars.com made the big announcement today:
StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that the director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens — who once attended Star Wars Celebration as a fan — is confirmed to appear at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim this April. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will kick off the show in a big way on Thursday morning, April 16, at 10:00 a.m. This will be a day long remembered.
Kennedy attended Celebration Europe in July 2013, where she had an in-depth chat with host Warwick Davis, and revealed that John Williams would return to score Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She also toured the show floor, checking out the work of the R2 Builders Club — which led to members of the fan group joining the production of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

There's no indication as to what Abrams and Kennedy will be doing at Star Wars Celebration, but one would assume that they'll have some footage to show. After all, there's supposed to be a new trailer for The Force Awakens arriving with The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and since Star Wars Celebration is just a couple weeks before the Disney/Marvel film hits theaters, they could premiere the trailer in Anaheim before it ends up online and in theaters. But if attendees are lucky, maybe they'll have even more footage to show. And is there a chance that any of the cast members could show up? We're not sure, but it sounds like there's going to be some big things happening at Star Wars Celebration this year.
It's only obvious they're planning on showing new footage. Maybe they'll spice it up too and have concept art, the actors, and some robots/animatronics show up too. But...it should be exciting nonetheless. I do however have a quick question, hopefully someone can answer. You too FS.net staff. I can't recall where I read this (FS.net or Screenrant) but not too long ago I thought I read there was suppose to be a trailer/teaser for "Star Wars VII" in front of "Jupiter Ascending"...did this not happen? Maybe it was "Bat vs Sup" or maybe it was suppose to be in front of "Kingsmen", either way...did anyone else read this too??

Actually, Celebration VI was in August 2012, so it has been about three years. Also, they are not always every three years. It was only two years between Celebration III and IV, and Celebration V was in August 2010, only two years before VI. Just sayin... I really wanted to go to Celebration Anaheim, but unfortunately this doesn't look to be the case. Definitely recommend attending at least one of these in your life if you're heavily into the WARS.

These things better happen once a year once the films really start rolling out.
