After playing at the Cannes Film Festival last year, we've seen a couple international trailers for Clouds of Sils Maria, the latest film from Olivier Assayas. And now the film is poised for a release in the United States, which means we get a domestic trailer for the film now. The film follows actress Maria Enders (Juliette Binoche) is asked to perform in a revival of the play that made her famous twenty years ago. But back then she played the role of Sigrid, an alluring young girl who disarms and eventually drives her boss Helena to suicide. This time she's playing the older boss role and finds herself looking at unsettling reflection of her past when she meets the younger actress (Chloe Grace Moretz). Is it just me, or does it seem like Moretz is playing some version of Kristen Stewart, who plays Binoche's assitant? Watch below!
Here's the US trailer for Olivier Assayas' Clouds of Sils Maria from IFC Films:
Clouds of Sils Maria is written and directed by Olivier Assayas. At the peak of her international career, Maria Enders (Juliette Binoche) is asked to perform in a revival of the play that made her famous twenty years ago. But back then she played the role of Sigrid, now she is being asked to step into the other role, the older Helena. She departs with her assistant (Kristen Stewart) to rehearse in Sils Maria, a remote region of the Alps. A young Hollywood starlet with a penchant for scandal (Chloƫ Grace Moretz) takes the role of Sigrid, and Maria finds herself on the other side of the mirror, but facing an unsettling reflection of herself. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and IFC Films releases it this spring on April 10th. Well?

Stewart...I just don't know what's her deal. Is she talented? She clearly hates her fame.

I haven't seen the movie but totally agree with what you've said. Or, at least, those are mine expectations about it. Besides, the acting issue regarding Kristen Stewart isn't just related to her, it's related to many others. I think it's a problem of the industry as a whole. She needs to take some well payed roles before she does something that deserves to be done...
