Must Watch: Second Teaser Trailer for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'
by Ethan Anderton
April 16, 2015
Source: YouTube
After the first teaser trailer blew everyone away back at Thanksgiving, the second teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally shows some stuff that fans have been foaming at the mouth to see. I can't even describe for you the sentimental feeling I got of seeing Harrison Ford back as Han Solo along with his old friend Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) right there with him, and the line used to end the trailer is just perfect. There's barely a reveal of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but there's that old voiceover of his from Return of the Jedi talking about how his family is strong in The Force. I can't wait to see this! Watch!
Here's the second teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens from Star Wars YouTube:
You can still watch the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens right here.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, continuing the beloved original trilogy about Luke, Leia, Han & Chewie that ended in 1983, is directed by J.J. Abrams, of the films Mission: Impossible 3, Star Trek, Super 8 and Star Trek Into Darkness. The screenplay is written by Lawrence Kasdan (Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Return of the Jedi, The Big Chill, The Bodyguard) and J.J. Abrams, with Kathleen Kennedy from Lucasfilm producing. This debut is the beginning of a brand new saga, with another trilogy planned for this storyline, not to mention other standalone movies in this universe. Disney, after acquiring Lucasfilm, will release Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters worldwide on December 18th, 2015.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but I like it and by the end of the trailer I teared a little. Just for clarification, this films occurs when they are much older (han etc) and the Empire I guess by the looks, is dead but now on the come up?

Yes, you are correct.

I also was not a fan of the original stuff. Very excited for this new stuff.

Basically, yes. Rumor has it that remnants of the Empire are still around, and either causing problems for the Alliance/New Republic (or whatever they're going to call themselves); or the Empire remnants have been quietly biding their time & building up their strength.

Not sure. But Luke's voiceover says, "My sister has it," while someone is handing her the lightsaber....just speculatin'

Is it Luke as voiceover? He says : '' My father has it, I have it...'' So narrators father isn't dead = narrator is not luke? Or he means that Anakin is still alive in force or something...

I was wondering the same thing immediately. Why my father "has" it. And I didn't think it was Luke's voice at first. It would also make sense if Luke's son is speaking and he has a sister.
David Diaz on Apr 16, 2015
13
Yea, I think it's Luke's kids... they just so happened to show Darth Vaders helmet... doesn't really mean its Luke talking.

I'm not familiar with how precise english speaking people are with their grammar. But that they would take old lines and just slam it into a teaser with grammar flaw, i'm not buying that...

i know everyone loved the teaser, but i thought that was much better. a slow build, strong connections to the canon, some action shots, nostalgia as the Falcon is chased inside a big structure again, and ending with Ford showing more charisma in a few seconds than he has in many recent full films. and still not many, if any, spoilers. excellent.
son_et_lumiere on Apr 16, 2015

I think other than Leia getting more in touch w/ her Force abilities/Jedi heritage, I really didn't get any feel of spoilers in this... Which is totally awesome!

It's crazy to see how old Ford looks. He's one of those actors you don't want to imagine getting old because eveytime someone says his name, you instantly see him as Indy or Han.

I agree with both of you. It's nice to see his character return, but I don't want him to be a primary character like he used to be nor do I want to see him act the same way he did when he was younger. I want to see a matured, old Solo. Like seeing "Old Man Logan" instead of young Wolverine again.
JBroti on Apr 16, 2015
92
Yep, I don't see why if there is a young Obi-Wan, there can't be an old Han. I hope he'll just play a different role for the main story and maybe evolved/matured a bit in character.

He's got a point. Was the goal to produce a great Star Wars sequel, bringing back all the characters and satisfying the audience in a way all can enjoy and feel fulfilled in or to use the movie as a vehicle to push a social political agenda to a captive audience that dare not say anything. If the goal was the latter they accomplished that.

153
yes, Wolfgang van nazi. Star Wars has a social political agendaโฆ Right
TheOct8pus on Oct 22, 2015
154
No, but the fact is that many Hollywood producers/directers do. Live and love as you want, how you want, who you want as long as it affects no one else, just don't push it on others or shove it in a captive audience's face, it's offensive. Ya, the van nazi comment is let's see...about 180 from where I'm at.

TheOct8pus on Oct 22, 2015
156
No not at all. I just know how these things work, some one behind the scenes pushed for a casting that would lead to an interracial relationship because that's their agenda, pure and simple. How it relates to the audience, if it does or how it affects the film positively or negatively was their secondary concern.

0/10 As an idiot you're too stupid to realize that you're incapable of a clever response. All the more reason to coathanger you out of existence. Try again douchetroll.

This is not Luke's statement from Return of the Jedi. There he was clearly talking to Leia but in this trailer he is clearly talking to some one else because he says his father has it, he has it, his sister has it and "YOU" have it too! Plus Did you notice he says his father "has" (present tense) it? Could be Abrams will find a way to bring Darth Vader back... Hope so.

JJ Abrams needs to get some kind of nobel prize for saving great franchises by adding his generous slab of talent .
