Olivia Wilde Officially Back as Quorra for Joseph Kosinski's 'TRON 3'

Back in March, reports surfaced that TRON 3, the sequel to 2010's anticipated TRON: Legacy, was gearing up to start shooting this fall in Vancouver. Shortly thereafter it was confirmed that star Garrett Hedlund and director Joseph Kosinski were going to be back for the sequel, which has been rumored to be title TRON: Ascension. Now word comes from THR that Olivia Wilde will be reprising her role as Quorra, an algorithm turned sentient human who left the grid with Sam (Hedlund), son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), at the conclusions of Legacy. However, we still don't know what the sequel will focus on this time. Read on!
Also unknown is whether or not Jeff Bridges or the title program himself, played by Bruce Boxleitner, will be back for this sequel. However, perhaps the most important element of this film's cool factor, beyond the breathtaking visuals, would be the return of Daft Punk to score the film. The soundtrack was easily the most memorable part of TRON: Legacy, and it would be great if the electronic duo returned to score the sequel again. Anyway, we've got some time before production begins in the fall, so details will slowly start to trickle out of the studio in the coming months. Stay tuned for more.

The ending of Legacy made little sense with Olivia leaving the virtual world as a flesh and blood babe.....then again....a flash and blood dude was turned into a little video game character, so.....

Less thought about the logistics makes it more of an enjoyable ride imo.

Awesome! Idk where they're gonna take this, but I'll jump on board. Tron: Legacy was one of the best IMAX experiences I've ever had!

Tron Legacy had it's highs and lows, but I'm interested in where a sequel could go. I think Kosinski showed improvement as a director from Legacy to Oblivion, so I have faith that another Tron film could be a marked improvement. I also like that it has been a few years, 28 years between the first and 2nd, and then the 3rd churned out 2 years after that would be a little 'weird'. This will make the "trilogy" feel more appropriately spaced out. Any word on whether or not this is coming in 2016 or 2017?

If Tron 3 is really going to titled TRON: Ascension... then there is a very huge possibility that we will also see Jeff Bridges as well, and here is why. Jeff Bridges character had essentially ascended, thus becoming a part of the grid or becoming the grid itself (very much like how Neo became the Matrix at the end of Revolutions). Cillian Murphy will most likely be the main villain in the human world, as the son of Ed Dillinger... and I would love to see the return of Sark. Now yes, Sark was derezzed in the original Tron, and was portrayed by Ed Dillinger's character... BUT, what if Cillian Murphy's original cameo plan was not just to have Clu have his way, but to have any derezzed programs reactivated, thus re-instating that original Master Control Program to take over the real world. Now, that would be a kul Tron movie.

I am stuck I my '' long hair years'' I think because I didn't like tron 2. The first one was a little magic, because we all played with atari and Sega, so we where all grabbed by the possibility of playing in the game. Tron 2 realy had bad bad cgi, and especially the face of Jeff bridges, it looked unnatural and like a cardboard mask...

Yes! Yes! Yes! While she is a fairly boring character (one-dimensional), she was incredible perfect in form for this role! Just absurdly gorgeous.

I think I missed the parts of the film when she was on screen. Absolutly gorgeus.

I'm not sure about the score, I love DP and they did a great job, but this will probably be a different looking film (I hope anyway) and I'd like to see another artist try it out. (Celldweller can you hear me?)
