Reese Witherspoon & Sofia Vergara in First Trailer for 'Hot Pursuit'

"We have been set up, shot at and hunted down." If you watched The Heat and thought to yourself, "Hey, I wish this was more like Midnight Run," then we have some good news for you. Hot Pursuit stars Reese Witherspoon as a feisty, uptight police officer tasked with escorting the widow/potential witness (Sofia Vergara) in an important investigation of a drug lord. But of course, shit goes down, and the two are forced to go on the run. Witherspoon and Vergara seem like a fun enough mismatched pair, but the comedy is a little broad, though I do like the bit about the news messing up their height and age respectively. Watch!

Hot Pursuit is directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, 27 Dresses) and written by David Feeney ("New Girl") and John Quaintance ("Whitney"). An uptight and by-the-book cop (Reese Witherspoon of Wild and Legally Blonde) tries to protect the sexy and outgoing widow (Sofia Vergara of "Modern Family" and Valentine's Day) of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen. John Carroll Lynch & Rob Kazinsky also star in the film Warner Bros. & MGM release May 8th.
