See a Proper Sized 'Ant-Man' Tease Before Trailer Arrives Tuesday

Yesterday, Marvel Studios trolled their loyal audience by releasing an "ant sized" teaser for the forthcoming trailer for this summer's release of Ant-Man. The video was super small, making it impossible to see anything, even if you zoomed in. But today they've released a human-sized version for consumption. However, since it's a teaser for a teaser trailer (yeah, we're rolling our eyes too), it doesn't show much. Though we do get a couple good shots of Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll in the film, plus another look at Paul Rudd looking a bit rough. Don't worry though, because the full teaser trailer arrives on Tuesday, January 6th, with the premiere of "Agent Carter" on ABC, and we'll have it online shortly thereafter.

Here's the teaser for the trailer for Peyton Reed's Ant-Man from Marvel Studios:

You can still get a first look at Paul Rudd in Ant-Man right here.

Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed (Yes Man) with a script by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish, rewritten by Adam McKay and Gabriel Ferrari & Andrew Barrer Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Marvel Studios releases the film this summer on July 17th. Ready?

A teaser trailer for a teaser trailer? Damn. I vaguely remember this having been done before, but it doesn't mean it's any less ridiculous. [/rant] Still, I'm interested to see what the trailer will look like.

It's a strange kind of madness, the trailers for trailers, but it seems the money men seem to think it works. :-((

So sick of commercials for commercials.

This teaser better make me want to see this. Because this teaser for the trailer kinda doesn't want me to see the teaser.

This teaser better make want to see the film. Because this teaser for the actual teaser, kinda doesn't make me want me to see the teaser.

Is it just me or do people complain little too much over little things like this these days?

Give me a can of bug spray.

The legs of the suit towards the end...very CGI. We shall see what the trailer shows us. And, yes, I get that he is a character that changes his size and it is a superhero movie so a CGI suit is inevitable but if he is just running...that better be a physical suit.

I honestly think they are real legs at the end there. You can just tell.

I'm wondering if Rudd got toned up for the heroic role like RDJ did for Iron Man? I mean, we know he doesn't need to be jacked like both Chris's, but I can't recall ever seeing Rudd with a toned, muscled body in any of his other films. Least it'd be something new for the actor.

So ready, Rudd looks like he is giving this performance his all.

Marvel Studios hasn't made a bad film yet. Some are certainly not as great as others, but they've never been bad. If it was any 'normal' film production that had these kind of woes...I'd be legitimately worried about what kind of 'salvaged' film we would be getting in the end. BUT the Marvel Studios infrastructure has proven to be capable of greatness. The director of a Marvel Studios film is a lot less important when you have someone like Kevin Feige involved, and the Marvel Studios 'team' on board every film, guiding it. Everything is so collaborative with Marvel Studios that losing a director doesn't utterly gut a film. I honestly think Peyton Reed is going to shock the world and rise to the occasion.

Paul Rudd is beyond fantastic. I'm interested in seeing how he deals with this. Should be a fun movie like Guardians.
