Briefly: Get ready to be more excited than you've ever been before. This coming Monday, October 19th, it's going to be Star Wars Mania. Over at io9 they've confirmed with sources that the new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be hitting on Monday evening. Right after the trailer hits, which I'm sure is going to make all of us go crazy with excitement, tickets for the opening day will go on sale. In addition to the trailer and tickets, an official poster will arrive on Sunday morning to remind us of the big reveal the next day. I've got a feeling everyone is going to be going Star Wars crazy on Monday, especially once the new trailer (presumably full of all kinds of new footage) drops. Stay tuned for lots of exciting Star Wars updates.

This is CRAZY!! I'm planning on seeing Star Wars 7 on opening day, but now I feel like I have to buy tickets TWO MONTHS in advance if I want a seat! This movie is going to gross more than Avatar or the Avengers.....insanity.....

True....I (regrettably) saw Episode 1 on opening night, but luckily I happened to be in a small town upstate NY, so I managed to buy tickets at the box office.... Fuck it, I'm getting tix to Ep 7.

Yep. Waited 6 hours in line in the westwood theater in 1999! Also anyone remember the first trailer back then was released online as a tiny tiny quicktime movie. 😉

My friend Daryl and I saw Episode I at that same theater at Downtown Disney in Orlando, while we were on vacation there. Early evening showing on opening day. Pretty sure it was the first time I ever pre-ordered movie tickets - I did it by phone.

I mean if your going either way what's the difference between buying them early or later?

Yeah, I know....it's just nuts that this movie could be a huge grossing film even before it comes out!

Is this for the big chain theaters? Because the theaters in my hometown is smaller, family owned and operated, with a few other cinemas in the state. They offer online purchaces up to a week before any given showing, but you still have to get in line to go to the window to swipe your card and get your ticket for entry. But they are not AMC, nor do we even have an IMAX screen in my town.

I manage a theater, and the word from corporate is that tickets go on sale monday night at 8:30. Disney has told everyone that any theater that breaks the embargo will have Star Wars pulled from THE ENTIRE CHAIN. I pity the poor assistant manager that gets Star Wars pulled from his company because he put tickets on sale early.

They are showing the trailer at half time during Monday Night football. Apparently tickets will go on sale right after. But seeing as half time depends on how long the first half runs, I'm assuming there will be a fixed time like you said. I'm gonna be ready and waiting to hopefully snag midnight IMAX seats. I just wonder how it's going to work when tons of people are trying to pick those premium seats and then checkout only to find they were taken seconds earlier.

Does anyone know if Fandango will be an outlet to buy online right after trailer? I assume so, but want to double check

SPOILER ALERT; It is a trap! A race baiting ploy to con humanity! Luke will turn evil in order to preserve his bloodline. When pigs fly!
