The New York Yankees Flawlessly Reenact Scene from 'The Sandlot'

In the sports world, there are few teams that are hated more than the New York Yankees, even by people living in the Big Apple. But you can't deny that people just can take their eyes off those damn pinstripes. Anyway, even if you absolutely hate the Yankees, there's a good chance they'll be redeemed ever so slightly with this amusing video that some of the teammates put together to promote the arrival of the new baseball season. It features some of the players (don't ask me who, because that's not my bag), flawlessly reenacting a scene from The Sandlot when Smalls finally learns who Babe Ruth is after losing the autographed ball.
Here's the New York Yankees reenacting The Sandlot from MLB:
And if you want to know how well this was done, check out this comparison (via SlashFilm):
That's pretty cool. And there's no doubt that all those players are big fans of the movie. It's pretty much a rite of passage for any kid, whether they like baseball or not. But considering these guys are professional baseball players, you can bet they've seen it more than a few times. Now if we could get The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys to reenact scenes from The Little Giants, or the Anaheim Ducks to reenact scenes from Disney's Mighty Ducks motion picture trilogy, we could have even more fun. Pretty cool?

Flawlessly? That was terrible, but they're not actors so all is well. Hot damn I love The Sandlot. One of my alltime favorites.
