In case you didn't know, RogerEbert.com editor Matt Zoller Seitz is responsible for a spectacular book called The Wes Anderson Collection that takes an in-depth look at the making of the writer and director's entire feature filmography. But since the book came out in October of 2013, it was missing Anderson's then-forthcoming film The Grand Budapest Hotel. But fans shouldn't fret, because Seitz is releasing a book focusing solely on the Best Picture nominated film. The Wes Anderson Collection: The Grand Budapest Hotel will be available tomorrow, and we have a gorgeous animated trailer for the book.
The trailer for The Wes Anderson Collection: The Grand Budapest Hotel from Abrams Books:
It's cool to see that Seitz was able to get this book together to keep his profile of Wes Anderon's work going, and I hope there's a new book for every future film from Anderson as well. This book on The Grand Budapest Hotel is full of great material, including interviews with Anderson himself, as well as star Ralph Fiennes, composer Alexandre Desplat, director of photography Robert Yeoman and even Stefan Zweig, whose work heavily influenced the film. Last night, The Grand Budapest Hotel took home a nice handful of trophies at the 68th BAFTA Awards in the United Kingdom, including a win for Wes Anderson writing the Best Original Screenplay. We're not sure how the film will fare at the 87th Academy Awards in a couple weeks, but the film is up for some top prizes, including Best Picture and Best Director. Cool?
