Jurassic World

Hold onto your butts!! This is getting wild! I have been hoping they would start showing some of the more jaw-dropping awesome footage from Jurassic World, and they finally are. Universal has debuted another new TV spot for Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic Park follow-up Jurassic World, starring Chris Pratt and one nasty Indominus Rex. This genetically-created dino seems to be the star of the movie, and you really see that in this spot, with so much footage of her raging all over. Ohh if only they could let it keep rolling and you'd see the people actually being eaten. Oh my! The cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, BD Wong and plenty of others. Fire this one up, it's actually starting to look much better. Seriously! Check it.

Here's the new extended TV spot for Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World, direct from @JurassicPark:

You can also re-watch the newest, second trailer for Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World by going here.

Jurassic World is directed by Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed), who rewrote the script with Derek Connolly from an earlier draft by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes). No plot details are available yet, but the film has been said to feature a new operational dinosaur theme park, just as John Hammond imagined over 20 years ago. The cast includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Jake Johnson, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D'Onofrio, Irrfan Khan and B.D. Wong, reprising his role from Jurassic Park. Universal will open Jurassic World this June 12th. Better?

Saw this a couple days ago before it had an HD version. If you look closely just as the stampede starts with the gyrosphere, you can see a parasaurolophus to the left and an edmontosaurs behind the stegosaurus. Also as the raptors are running through the jungle and then killing the armed solider, you can see cameras attached to the raptor's head. Fingers crossed we get some GoPro footage in the movie through the perspective of a raptor :)! And I love how eerie and mysterious the vast lagoon looks that the woman falls into....has that suspenseful JAWS feeling to it. One thing I have noticed though from the trailers...these new species of pteranodon doesn't seem too look as menacing and scary as the species we got in JP3 with the long crests on the head. Plus those seemed bigger too. But that's just minor nitpicking. Too stoked for this movie!!

JBroti on May 7, 2015

Dude...nice critique here. If we get first-person raptor footage, I will be happy.

DAVIDPD on May 7, 2015

Thank you. And I totally agree...if we can ask for anything fresh and original from a's GoPro raptors, haha

JBroti on May 8, 2015

That GoPro idea would be a nice add on, a new point of view. I like it a lot. But looking over the footage again, those might just be tracking devices, and knowing Hollywood, that's all they'll be. Praying I'm wrong on this one.

Simple Sam on May 8, 2015

Doubtful those are tracking devices. Here's why: It's already seen in the trailers, the iRex pulled out it's tracking device that was embedded in it's body. Meaning all tracking devices are probably embedded. If they were on the head, they could easily come off.

JBroti on May 8, 2015

I want one of those orb riders.

DAVIDPD on May 7, 2015

Doesn't look too safe....

TheOct8pus on May 8, 2015

Are you treading on my freedom?

Benjamin Hunter on May 8, 2015

No....but Brachiosaurus might tread on your head in one of those things....

TheOct8pus on May 8, 2015

Floppity, floppity, flop.

capitandelespacio on May 8, 2015

No way. hippity, hippity hit. Dinosaurs sell....who cares about plot, character development, franchise continuity and all that nonsense. People want to see stomp, chomp, scream, 3D...

TheOct8pus on May 8, 2015

Yeah, regreted my words after thinking that... You forgot about Chris Pratt.

capitandelespacio on May 8, 2015

Disagree. The is zero buzz for this movie. People have seen Dino's before, it's nothing new. Gauging from the Audience silence after the trailer played, I don't think it will flop but it won't be a hit either.

Sascha Dikiciyan on May 10, 2015

Fuck you.

Mark Brackney on May 10, 2015

I'm not sure where you live, but all I'm seeing and hearing is how excited everybody is about Jurassic World. I'm not saying this movie is going to be great - it's probably going to be really corny, and unoriginal - but I can guarantee it's going to make at least $300 Million, which would make it a summer hit. Hands down. I'm willing to bed on it. Besides, what's the competition? Ultron will be over a month old when this comes out, and Tomorrowland is a hard sell. Jurassic World comes out the week that most schools get out, which means everybody under 21 in America will see this within the first 2 weeks of its release. Guaranteed hit. No doubt about it.

TheOct8pus on May 11, 2015

Well, some plot details are available.

OfficialJab on May 8, 2015

That description is in every Jurassic Park thread

steve on May 8, 2015

I love how the FSdotnet naysaying crowd is gradually quieting down on this one. It seems like any sequel that isn't part of the Marvel universe is dismissed as pure shit by default. I have hope yet that this and Terminator will prove you all wrong.

Benjamin Hunter on May 8, 2015

This movie will prove worthwhile in theaters. Marvel is today's generation's franchise. The Jurassic Park franchise is everyone's. More adults are going to want to see this and want to bring their children because they fell in love with the franchise when they were children having seen JP1.

JBroti on May 8, 2015

and it's got friggin' DINOSAURS in it!!

TheOct8pus on May 8, 2015

At the age of 8 I saw JP1 in theaters. I won't lie. A few moments scared the shit out of me. I'm wondering If my 8-year-old nephew could handle this one.

Benjamin Hunter on May 8, 2015

Here here my friend!

Tim on May 8, 2015

Hopes are high now. Looks promising - love that shot of the woman being dropped in the tank ...ohhh shiver.

Mr Chatterbox on May 9, 2015

I actually thought the mosasaur would eat both her, AND that Pteranodont, WHILE she was still clutched in its "talons" (real life pterosaurs prob. couldn't grab things with their feet, like modern day birds can do. But, you know, "Theme-park Monsters", and what not.) If so, that that would be an INCREDIBLY dark scene, indeed.

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

Son of a bitch......... they gave Rexy's roar to the I-Rex..... Hell no, Hell no, HELL-NO!!!!!

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

I hope you're joking. That you don't actually believe that.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

…..UHHHHH………. then, why don't you have that Abomination of Nature (sure, the other dinos have frog and lizard DNA in them, but, you get my darn point) as your logo? HUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH!?!?!?!?!?

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

Because I haven't seen the movie and I don't want to have a premature reaction/fandom like you're having right now.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

Oh, poooo. I bet you love that damn Spinosaurus too, huh?

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

As a real creature or in the movie? I thought the spinosaurus was a great addition to the franchise to mix it up a little with another large, two legged carnivore. However, I did think he was executed poorly though. But I still welcomed it's arrival the the JP franchise.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

No, bye, get out. Bye. Not dealing with your bull-shit, anymore. Bye.

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

Because you lost, hahahaha. Instead of being calm and collected, you were speaking out of your ass in bullshit whining on here. And in the end, since you had no real factual claims or a real opinion to anything, you tired yourself out in an easy defeat. I was enjoying this little banter we were having even though you were taking it personal (which I enjoyed). Just come back when you're ready for Round 2.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

Because you pissed me the fuck off about the Spino. If you were a REAL JP fan, you would call that f*cking fight bullshit. Anyway, I quit the fight, because, really, you were Cheating, and the Reps. let it slide. It was a bull-shit Fight, anyway.

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

I don't understand how giving my opinion is counted as cheating? As a real JP fan, I will say I think the fight was fair and as expected. I do wish it was longer and more difficult to tell who would win...but InGen designed the Spino to be deadlier and more ferocious than the rex. It had a longer snout, longer arms with three long sharp fingers and claws, and was larger in overall size than the simply had more advantages. Plus the kid said about the rex pee "it scares some of the smaller ones, but attracts one really big one with the fin". So obviously the Spino already hunts the rex on the island, meaning it's confident it killing it's prey. I want to say I wish the rex had won but I love all dinosaurs, and won't allow their stature in a fictional movie/franchise to determine their success in a fight unless there's more meaning behind it. I'm really not trying to piss you off. You're asking a question or claiming something, and I'm giving my opinion whether I disagree or agree.

JBroti on May 10, 2015

1.) T. rex had the strongest bite-force of almost ANY animal that ever lived, living OR extinct. True, S. aegyptiacus WAS bigger than Tyrannosaurus by a good 9 feet. HOWEVER, one bite from that rex to the neck SHOULD'VE brought it down. 2.) Tell me how, and, when, the Spino "was supposed to be deadlier than the 'T-Rex'", at all, in the third film. 3.) The spinosaur prob. wasn't scared by the tyrannosaur urine, because, instead of prey, it sensed a potential competitor in it's ecosystem. Spinosaurus' jaws were designed for catching fish, NOT other dinosaurs. To long, narrow, and, most importantly, brittle. And, FINALLY, 4.) if you're NOT trying to get me mad, than why did you say, "I lost this fight", and even agreed WITH A DUDE I DON'T EVEN FREAKING KNOW?!?!?!?!

Mark Brackney on May 11, 2015

1) Ok, you're right about the REAL facts for a T-Rex as well as the facts about a Spino's anatomical features in your #3. But this is something people need to understand. JP is a fictional movie, based on fictional dinosaurs. Grant said it best in JP3 when he called then "genetically modified monsters" and not dinosaurs. When the InGen scientists have the ability to recreate these animals and they take away or add new features to their overall bodily design, then these animals are no longer true dinosaurs. Just using frog DNA alone no longer makes them true dinosaurs. So with that said, even though a real rex's bite force was stronger than a real spino's bite force doesn't make in canon for the film franchise. You want to talk about real dinosaurs, a real spinosaurus most likely walked on all fours, rearing up slightly to catch fish but couldn't support running or constantly walking on two legs because of it's massive fin which ran down most of it's body. So as you can see, the design of the spino in JP3 was already altered. 2) This was said during the investigation when billy picked up a tooth and while exploring the run down InGen building. 3)When two alpha predators are aware of their presence in an ecosystem, they always avoid one another. Unless it's over territory or protection of their young, then never seek out one another to fight. That is a fact! The island was big enough to support both of them so there's no need for competition. 4) Well I know the "dude". I know all of them who have been jumping in to support me and give their opinions so I 've been supporting them. As said before, them and myself are regulars here...have been for years. And alot of us share the same ideas and interests for a franchise. The "you lost"....yea, kinda got me there haha. You don't have to let it get to you though.

JBroti on May 11, 2015

It's not. Trolls are.

Mark Brackney on May 11, 2015

I think you must be new around here. Can we have a bit of STFU? Thanks.

Sascha Dikiciyan on May 10, 2015

Fuck you. Go on to Slashfilm where you belong, little arrogant Son-of-a-Bitch Prick.

Mark Brackney on May 10, 2015

Sascha is right dude. You stand out as a newbie to all us usual FS followers. When you come off arrogant, you're going to be told to stfu.

JBroti on May 10, 2015

Oh? Arrogant? "I don't understand how giving my opinion is so bad?"

Mark Brackney on May 11, 2015

Well when you write "dick" and "fuck you...little arrogant SOB"...or write in all caps like you're shouting...and spark bullshit follow up comments...then yea, arrogant. Plus, no one see's your comments as opinions, it's evident by Oct8pus and Sascha now.

JBroti on May 11, 2015

WTF, how in the hell did I sat art that shit? "Hey, STFU", now THAT is Arrogant, my friend.

Mark Brackney on May 11, 2015

Mark Brackney on May 11, 2015

"This genetically-created dino seems to be the star of the movie,"......... uhhh, BLASPHEMY, much, Alex?

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

Yea the iRex is the star, in the sense, that it's the focal point of the plot. But that doesn't mean the rex is a supporting character. We don't know how big of an involvment the rex is going to have but a safe bet will be a final battle between the two. The rex, along with the raptors, and maybe the mososaur are stars in their own ways. No need to jump the gun dude, take it easy.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

*Sighs* says the dude who, LITERALLY, has the freaking T-REX as its logo. Either pledge your allegiance to Rexy, AT ONCE, or get burned at the Stake for being a blasphemous traitor……….. traitor.

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

Haha, you're an idiot. I'll change it to the sick triceratops, or the brach, or john hammond, it doesn't matter. The pic represents my love for JP. Not because rex is my hands down, all time favorite star of the franchise.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

BRUHHHH……. she WAS the damn movie. *PFFFFFFFF* Jurassic Park fan, my ass, THEN CHANGE IT TO THE POOR TRIKE, THEEEEEN!

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

Why are you writing in all caps? You sound like 8 year old in a chat room loosing a debate. The rex was NOT JP1. The story was JP1. Plenty of people out there will say the raptors "were" the movie. The rex had a great enterance and heroic exit but the raptors were the real terror of the movie. The plot of the movie WAS the movie. Which is why it became such a cult classic.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

Because, well, ARTISTIC F*CKING-TEGRITY. And, also, what freaking plot? Sure Spielberg made a great, GREAT movie. However, to say JP HAD (emphasis, son. Emotional emphasis) a plot line is just b.s. So, did the T-Rex have an "emotional epiphany" when it ripped that Gallimimus to shreds? No. Did the Trike find the courage to save all those poor fools from those "raptors"? Hell no. JP was a great movie due to great Acting and Directing, overall. Besides, Spielberg wasn't that known for his Plots, anyway.

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

Artistictegrity isn't a word (when someone put's "fucking" in the middle of a word, that word is usually an actual word). And now you're saying JP was a great movie due to acting and directing but before you were saying it was great because of the rex. So you're changing your opinion into my favor. The plot...the story (which encompasses acting, directing, special effects, location, etc)...everything that made that movie successful is what I was saying, which is what you're now agreeing with. Good! Glad I could persuade you. And this topic is about JP not about Spielberg and his other movies' plots.

JBroti on May 9, 2015

Not really, no. You could actually say that Rexy WAS an actor in the movie.

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

I encourage you look up the word "plot" in the dictionary, or perhaps read the plot-driven novel entitled "Jurassic Park"

TheOct8pus on May 11, 2015

As much as I could argue about this, no, the first "Jurassic Park" had ZERO plot line, whats-so-ever. Oh, and PLEASE butt-out.

Mark Brackney on May 11, 2015

Butt out of what exactly? This is an open forum. You can't argue about this, because there is no argument. Saying Jurassic Park has no plot is like saying Star Wars has no plot. There are protagonists, villains, conflicts and all those plot elements you'd be able to list if you had looked up the word in the dictionary. I've read all the comments you've posted here and on other entries, and they seem to be all negative and contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. I encourage you to take a look at yourself, and perhaps you will get to the root of your animosity....or perhaps you might just see....

TheOct8pus on May 11, 2015

no, no, no. YOU, my friend, are a Troll. I'm just the one who said my opinion, yet it is YOU, HIM, and ally eh other FUCKING ASSHOLES ON SLASHFILM THAT ARE FUCKING TROLLS> Fuck you.

Mark Brackney on May 11, 2015

Jesus, grow up...........

Mark Brackney on May 9, 2015

I have

JBroti on May 10, 2015

The fight between the T-Rex and the Mososaur should have been on the beach at the end of the last movie. The script was all wrong, sadly. Imagine the army boys shudder at the clash of those two titans. Imagine Rex growling after the last helicopter takes off. So many missed chances in that movie.

Peter T'Sas on May 10, 2015

Yea to hear two massive beasts like that would be impressive to King Kong vs the V-Rexs. But since the mososaur wasn't introduced in JP3, it wouldn't make sense to randomly have it fight a Rex. And the mososaur would have to come from the ocean, which again, wouldn't make much sense. But the fight of something like that could be great....just not in a JP franchise.

JBroti on May 10, 2015

LOL! My mistake, I meant the spinosaur from JP3 for sure. That's was the big badass from the third movie right? I think T-Rex wouldn't stand a chance against the mososaur. Bathing would definitely be unsafe.

Peter T'Sas on May 10, 2015

Haha, yea the Spino. Yea in that case, you're right, the fight should've been at the very end. The climatic battle and at least we could've seen more of the rex throughout the film too. And I also agree about declaring the mososaur the overall winner. Pretty much any dino (in the JP franchise) that goes up against it is going to loose.

JBroti on May 10, 2015

Saw the movie yet? It seems I had it coming 🙂

Peter T'Sas on Jun 15, 2015

when I think of Transformers, this suddenly starts to look good. No, wait, it looks awesome ...
