Watch: Trailer for Indie 'Touched With Fire' Featuring Katie Holmes
"Are we a mistake, Carla? Are we a mistake?" Roadside Attractions has debuted the first trailer for Paul Dalio's indie romantic drama Touched With Fire (formerly known as Mania Days when it premiered at SXSW), starring Katie Holmes as a manic depressive who falls "crazy in love" with someone just like her. At the psychiatric hospital she meets a fellow bipolar patient, played by Luke Kirby, and they end up on a "passionate, yet unhealthy love affair". This looks much more powerful and beautiful than I was expecting, especially in the final 30 seconds of this trailer, so give it a chance and let it play all the way to the end. The cast includes Christine Lahti, Bruce Altman, Griffin Dunne and Alex Manette. You might just be intrigued.
Here's the first official trailer for Paul Dalio's Touched With Fire, originally from Yahoo:
Holmes stars as a manic depressive woman who checks herself into a psychiatric hospital. It's there where she meets a fellow bipolar patient and aspiring poet (Luke Kirby) with whom she has a budding romance. They soon embark on a passionate, yet unhealthy love affair, which brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, "crazy in love." Touched With Fire was originally titled Mania Days when it premiered earlier this year. The film is the feature debut of young filmmaker Paul Dalio, of a few shorts previously who also wrote the screenplay for this. It first premiered at the SXSW Film Festival this year. Roadside Attractions will be releasing Touched With Fire in select theaters starting on February 12th early in 2016. Interested?

As some one who has a bipolar family member, this is not really accurate (at least in my case). This looked more like schizophrenia, manic episodes are different.

Thank you, Bo. I guess every one has different personal experiences. Luckily, the person in my life who suffers from bipolar is on good medicines now. And I get they have to heighten stuff for films. I suppose I am just too close to this subject to be objective.
