Welcome to 2015: The Year of Fifty Shades of Jurassic Ultron Wars
by Alex Billington
January 1, 2015
It's here. Welcome to 2015. By the end of this year, after another 12 months, we will have seen the new Star Wars movie from J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm/Disney. But before that, we'll also see Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tomorrowland, Jurassic World, Ant-Man, Spectre, and oh yes, Fifty Shades of Grey. It's one of those kind of years. The ones that we write about at the beginning, where we all say "whoa" there's a whole boatload of incredible new films in the works all due in theaters this year. Including a new Terrence Malick movie (or maybe two?). I know, what the f**k is going on?! But, here we are, we made it, Bienvenue à 2015.
One of our most popular posts was a first look at the "Full 2015 Release Schedule" with over 50 movies. The final release schedule for 2015 is still available, and will be updated as dates are added/changed. We still have the completion of the 2015 Academy Awards coming up on February 22nd, which means the awards season is still going along with Sundance coming up in a few more weeks this January. But as for the rest of the year, it's jam packed with all kinds of movies from Jupiter Ascending, Pixels and Chappie, to Furious 7 and Mad Max: Fury Road, to Crimson Peak, Sinister 2, Fantastic Four, and Terminator: Genisys, plus the Mockingjay finale. Here's our 20 Most Anticipated Movies of 2015. Which movies are you excited for?
As always, thank you to all the readers who continue to follow FirstShowing, and stay dedicated to loving films as well as the theatrical experience above all. We very much appreciate your support as we begin 2015.

From the ones listed, I'm only really feeling excited for Mad Max. I'm somewhat interested in Chappie. Also, Hateful Eight, In the Heart of the Sea. Kingsman looks like fun. In the near future, I wanna see Blackhat.

I really hope, that they wouldn't be as awful as those movies dawn of the apes, of which I got bored after ten minutes watching it. Then I switched on the fast forward mode..and watched another 10 min or so. The same happened with that guardian of the galaxy sh**t and a few other ones aswell as the hunger games..really, that s**kd as well. I like good movies, but usually they don't get good credit or enough publicity so to speak.
