'A New Hero' Featurette for 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'
WB continues to introduce audiences to the cinematic world of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with featurettes focusing on new characters in the Harry Potter universe. Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who winds up letting loose a suitcase full of magical creatures in New York City in the 20s. It looks like they're still finishing the FX, so most of the footage involves characters interacting. There's some brand new shots we haven't seen before, and plenty of discussion from author J.K. Rowling, who was much more involved in the making of this than she was Harry Potter. The full cast includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell and others. They're doing a good job building up interest in this, as I'm getting more and more curious with each new video they release.
Here's the "A New Hero" featurette for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, from YouTube:
The adventures of writer Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in New York's secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school. A new spin-off series from the Harry Potter world, written by J.K. Rowling. The first movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is being directed by English filmmaker David Yates, director of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, plus Half-Blood Prince, and both Deathly Hallows two-part finale. The film features the American version of the Ministry of Magic, housed in the Woolworth Building in New York, known as the "Magical Congress of the United States of America (or MACUSA)". This looks fun. Warner Bros will release Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in theaters nationwide starting on November 18th this fall. Looking forward to this?
I remember reading this book and its companion book in 6th grade and loving it. I am really just happy about being able to visit the HP universe again. All the new cannon set in the States will be fun!

I really can't wait to see this with my wife and son. He was only 5 when DH Part 2 came out so he obviously couldn't see it. We're reading the 7th book now and then will see the 2 films so he'll be primed and ready to see this one in the theater. I still remember when reading the books thinking about what the rest of the magical world was like since we only ever get to see England. Now we get to see albeit back in the 20's or so.
