Another Trailer for That Crazy Russian Superhero Movie 'Guardians'
"They must prepare for the final battle…" Ready for this badass movie already? If you want to see more footage from this movie while we wait for a US release, there's another new trailer to watch. Hitting theaters next year is a Russian "superhero" movie called Guardians, also known as Zashchitniki (Защитники) in Russian. We featured an impressive full-length trailer for this last month, but this new trailer looks like it's just a teaser though still contains more footage we haven't seen yet. The plot is about a "Patriot" program that created a superhero squad, which included members of multiple soviet republics. There's a psychopath who wields sleek curved swords, a telekinetic, an invisible witch, and the most badass one of all, a massive "Werebear" wielding a minigun. There's also a new "trailer" below which is just a fight scene clip. Have fun.
Here's the other new trailers for for Sarik Andreasyan's Guardians, or Zashchitniki, found on YouTube:
The plot synopsis for Zaschitniki on IMDb states: "During the Cold War, an organization called 'Patriot' created a super-hero squad, which includes members of multiple soviet republics. For years, the heroes had to hide their identities, but in hard times they must show themselves again." One of the commenters on io9 identifies the various superheroes seen in this: "So we got a Werebear, a psychopath with curved swords, a telekinetic with earth element powers and some sort of super powered witch." Guardians, or Zashchitniki in Russian, is directed by Armenian filmmaker Sarik Andreasyan, of The Earthquake, What Men Do!, and Mafia: Game of Survival previously. The film opens in Russia starting next February 2017, but has no US release date set yet. We'll be watching for any more updates - stay tuned. Who is excited to see this movie?

This looks so bad it hurts. Barring amazing reviews this is a solid pass for me.

How did he manage to cut a whole car with his passenger with his 2 feet curved blade? Curved blades look nice on screen, but I doubt about their efficiency in a battle.

There was a whole lot of people giving serious looks in that first trailer. I might give this a view at home. But I almost laughed at the guy standing up with the rock suit. His head was floating all over the place.

Soviet Union superheroes? Oh man, come on, even Captain America is not acting like true believer in American government. I hate to like American superheroes more, but this is ridiculous on too many symbolical levels before I think of action in it ...

I'm really hoping I can see this (with subtitles)... it looks great. Russians have a different way of looking at things, and can be very creative. I loved the sci/fi Night Watch, and sequel Day Watch.

Night Watch is one of the best films I've watched. It doesn't look at that level, but I'm up for it anyway.

Looks just ok. Still better than the most recent Fantastic 4 movie I bet.
