Ewan McGregor & Naomie Harris in First 'Our Kind of Traitor' Trailer
"I can't get involved." "I'm afraid you are involved." Studiocanal UK has debuted a trailer for the spy thriller Our Kind of Traitor, an adaptation of another John le Carré novel (other recent adaptations include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and A Most Wanted Man) about spies and secrets. Ewan McGregor and Naomie Harris stars as a couple drawn into a dangerous game of international espionage, caught between Stellan Skarsgard playing a mysterious money-launder, the Russian mafia, the British government, and Damian Lewis as a ruthless MI6 agent. This looks good, not great, though it's tough to pass up that cast.
Here's the first official trailer for Susanna White's Our Kind of Traitor, from Studiocanal's YouTube:
A couple find themselves lured into a Russian oligarch's plans to defect are soon positioned between the Russian Mafia and the British Secret Service, neither of whom they can trust. Based on John le Carré's best-selling spy novel. Our Kind of Traitor is directed by English filmmaker Susanna White, of the film Nanny McPhee Returns as well as lots of UK TV work previously. The screenplay is written by Hossein Amini, of The Four Feathers, Killshot, Shanghai, Drive, Snow White and the Huntsman, 47 Ronin. The film opens in the UK this May, but doesn't have a US release date set. Stay tuned for more updates. Thoughts?

*money-launderer does this website have zero standards when it comes to actual writing capabilities? does nobody even remotely proofread or spell check a single damn thing that is published here? the constant, rampant, glaring mistakes are nothing short of embarrassing, and you should be ashamed of yourselves. you don't need high standards, just any standards. have even a shred of journalistic integrity. seriously.

The sight of Ewan Mcgregor is enough to make me dump this in the 'forget' bin.

To tell the truth that works for the most acting ensemble this days. So, no good reason until it is not the reason to forget it all ...

Brassed off, Down with Love, the Star Wars films, Black Hawk Down. I just don't like the guy and think him a conceited, pompous twat.

I can definitely agree about the Star Wars movies, that was quite obvious miscast. However, Trainspotting was ok and Brassed off too (at least, for me)... I could find more of them, belonging to each of those categories. But I don't think he's much better or worse than most of the actors nowadays since a lot of movies are just products made for fun and profit and so are all the 'artists' in it. And of course, some differ in quality of their performances, but truly, I really don't see these days something you could call the art. So, why blame only one of them. It's a shoddy business and it is done mostly by shoddy people ...

Turn that frown upside down. McGregor is a reasonably good actor no? What was the movie that made you so mad at him? 🙂
