Independence Day: Resurgence Trailer

"We never had a chance…" "We didn't last time, either." Unite the world! 20th Century Fox has released an extended 5-minute trailer for Roland Emmerich's sequel Independence Day: Resurgence, arriving in theaters this June. This is their full-on final push to make audiences excited for this and I have to say it looks kind of awesome, I am excited to see it. The epic sci-fi sequel stars Jeff Goldblum, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Liam Hemsworth, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Vivica A. Fox and Sela Ward. We've already seen a couple of impressive trailers so far, but this time they show even more of the massive new ships arriving as well as new scenes with one of the aliens and President Whitmore. Enjoy!

Here's the new extended trailer for Roland Emmerich's Independence Day: Resurgence, on YouTube:

Independence Day 2 is being once again directed by Roland Emmerich. As for returning cast members – Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner and recently confirmed Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch will all be back as their characters from the first film. William Fichtner and Maika Monroe are new additions. The sequel is supposed to take place 20 years after the events of the first film, which will be real time, almost to the day, from when the original was released. Emmerich is directing again with a script that he co-wrote with Dean Devlin and James Vanderbilt. 20th Century Fox currently has Independence Day: Resurgence scheduled to land in theaters June 24th, 2016 this summer. Watch the first full trailer here. Excited yet?

My one regret with Civil War was watching all the trailers, clips and featurettes. By the time I saw it in the theater, I felt like I had already seen the movie.... But I'm not going to see this in the theater, so I'll watch this friggin epic trailer....

Bill Pullman is one thing looking good here. I always had some sympathy for him as an actor. As for the rest, it's like playing with legos (as somebody already put it). You build them and than you ruin them all ...

I wonder why they didn't bring back Mae Whitman as the president's daughter. She still looks good enough.

She declined the role.

Well, then, that explains that.

Wouldn't it be crazy if none of these scenes are in the movie at all or it was just a small dream sequence Captain Hiller was having...

LOL...this is sadly a must-see for me. I know it will probably not be even close to good, but it just looks so "bad" good.
