Rob Zombie's 31 Trailer

"All you have to do is survive 12 hours of our own private hell." Saban Films has debuted a trailer for Rob Zombie's latest horror film 31, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The plot involves five carnival workers who are kidnapped and held hostage in an "abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns." Starring Sheri Moon Zombie (but of course), Malcolm McDowell, Richard Brake, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Sandra Rosko, and Meg Foster. This looks like Zombie's typical over-stylized mix of gore and weird, gross shit. Not my cup 'o tea.

Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Rob Zombie's 31, direct from Saban Film's YouTube:

Rob Zombie's 31 Poster

From the visionary mind of the man who brought us House of 1000 Corpses and Halloween comes the horrific story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large compound. At the mercy of their captors, they are forced to play a twisted game or life or death called 31. For the next 12 hours they must fight for their lives against an endless parade of homicidal maniacs. 31 is both written and directed by filmmaker Rob Zombie, of House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, Halloween, Halloween II and The Lords of Salem previously. This first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Saban releases 31 on VOD starting September 16th + in theaters October 31st.

Rob Zombie is a horror mastermind?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing! Who crowned him with that title? Himself?!

Looks like shit and probably score a 13% on RT. I'll be sure to browse right past it on Netflix in a few months.

You would think with a name like Rob Zombie he would be creating horror that the rest of the world follows. You would think.

As long as he keeps casting his screechy wife, there's no way in hell I'm giving Rob another shot after so many interminable crapfests.

I saw House of a 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects. Neither inspired me to continue watching his movies. Still dig "Sexy Swinging Sounds" though...

I liked Devil's Rejects. Didn't completely hate Halloween 1-2 or House of 1,000 Corpses. Did hate Lords of Salem. Looking forward to this one.

Never saw Salem, didn't really interest me.

I saw one of his films and I don't even remember which one. Nothing in it. No real horror, no narrative, nothing particular about it and in it. Narcissistic and shallow egotism of some kind ...

Dig it, looks fun.
