The Predator

You'll Never See Him Coming… to Theaters in March of 2018. 20th Century Fox has confirmed a couple of release dates for two upcoming, highly anticipated sci-fi movies. First up, Ridley Scott's sorta-sequel to Prometheus, titled currently Alien: Covenant, has been shifted slightly to August 4th, 2017, more than a year away. That one will open against Blazing Samurai and Pitch Perfect 3, just a few months before Star Wars: Episode VIII. Next up, we just featured the teaser poster for Shane Black's The Predator, now we have a release date - March 2nd, 2018. That will play against the "Untitled WB Event Film" also set then, and a few weeks before Spielberg's Ready Player One opens. Should be a very exciting few years for sci-fi.

Both release dates come confirmed from the @BoxOffice account. In addition to setting these two new dates for Alien: Covenant and The Predator, Fox has removed the Gambit movie and The Mountain Between Us movie from the release schedules in 2016/2017. For the latest release dates, visit out 2016 schedule and 2017 schedule. Ridley Scott's swift progress putting together Alien: Covenant has delayed Neill Blomkamp's new version of Alien, but it sounds like it might be worth it - Katherine Waterston stars with Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, and Amy Seimetz. The new Predator is to be directed by Shane Black, from a script by Fred Dekker. We're still awaiting more details on both movies, but we've already marked them on our calendar.

I can't believe Ridley Scott would take the movie away from Blomkamp. What a spoiled child he is. This movie HAD a chance with a director like Blomkamp behind it, but now it's going to be another Disney film like Promethius. You're too old Ridley, you're time has past. Leave the directing to the younger folks. What a shame.

thats exactly what happened and Bonkamp had to take it with a smile

??? Didn't you see the Martian??? And the last movie of Blomkamp chappie didn't work at all... When the maestro wants something he gets, it's a simple as that.

Before that he had a series of movie that were not received well. 1 good movies out of 7 doesn't count for much IMO.

Ridley Scott is a master. Who think made the ├╝ber classic blade runner? Who made gladiator? So he made 3 classics:blade runner, alien and gladiator and that makes him a master. Let the meastro do his thing...

Yes, I did see The martian and it was a great DISNEY film. I was hoping for more than Promethius part 2. I'll address your lower comment as well. Scott WAS a master. He isn't any more. Alien was utter perfection. Bladerunner was fantastic, so was Gladiator and a few other films were great as well. But those were a long time ago and he hasn't made a "great" film in years. The Martian included. He's too old and he's had far too many chances to make a great film and blown every one of them.

Both franchises have burned fans one too many times with lousy or half-baked sequels. I want to believe that a new ALIEN or PREDATOR will be good, but damn...fool me once...

I'm hoping for the best for both of them... but I'll bail if the reviews are bad.

So... since they are not opening around the same time... then there won't be... ...wait for it... ...Aliens vs Predator at the theater!
