Underworld: Blood Wars Trailer

"This day was bound to come." Sony's Screen Gems has unveiled the first official trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars, the fifth movie in the Underworld series that originally started in 2003 with the action movie starring Kate Beckinsale. Beckinsale is back, again, to play vampire death dealer Selene fighting to finally, hopefully, end the eternal war between the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. The cast includes Lara Pulver, Theo James, Charles Dance, Tobias Menzies and Trent Garrett. Selene was the star of the first two films, then disappeared until 2012's Underworld: Awakening in an attempt to get people to care about the series again. I'm still not interested, and it still looks too dark (visually) and boring.

Here's the first trailer for Anna Foerster's Underworld: Blood Wars, direct from YouTube:

Underworld: Blood Wars

The next installment in the blockbuster franchise follows Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice. Underworld: Blood Wars is directed by filmmaker Anna Foerster, a cinematographer turned director making her feature debut after work on "Outlander" and "Criminal Minds". The screenplay is by Cory Goodman. Screen Gems will release Underworld: Blood Wars in theaters starting on January 6th, 2017 early next year. Anyone?

What happened to the super werewolf guy Michael? I can't believe that series has had 5 movies. The plots are always terrible, but somehow I still watch these.

Carpola on Sep 7, 2016

It's the exact opposite for me. I CAN believe they've had 5 movies, and I haven't watched a single one since the first one, because I know they're always terrible. 🙂

he heh eh

Except for that leather catsuit.....which still looks great.

First one was pretty decent. Second one wasn't bad. It wasn't good either. Third one sucked. i stopped at 3.

Patent leather catsuit is in play.

I thought movies were suppose to get better as they make them, not worse.

CyraNOSE on Sep 7, 2016

I think it's usually the other way around. Successful movies are often then milked for everything they are worth.

I want to see a superhero mash-up movie with this Kate Beckinsale character, Paul Bettany's character from Priest, Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill 1/2, Mark Walberg's Melvin Smiley from The Big Hit, and Chloë Grace Moretz's Hit Girl. Hey! A boy can dream, can't he? It would certainly be better than frigging Suicide Squad.

Don't propose strange ideas, those lunatics in film industry might read this stuff ... And, if there's any chance for a good film, they will definitely destroy it ...

shiboleth on Sep 7, 2016

Oh dear Kate, why don't you pick some erotic and sexy franchise..?

shiboleth on Sep 7, 2016

What's not erotic and sexy about her wearing that leather outfit? Isn't it the only reason they're still making these movies?

Justin R on Sep 7, 2016

The first one was kinda cool. Good music. Some Matrix like moments. Every other movie after it was so bad I wouldn't even watch it on a plane to pass time. It will still make money.

Sascha Dikiciyan on Sep 7, 2016

I felt like this had too much Game of Thrones in it because of the actors they used.

Justin R on Sep 7, 2016

I'll watch this, and probably enjoy it... mostly because there is little else. But I wish they'd quit with the whole Mafia like vampire themes...

Bill on Sep 7, 2016

It's hard to tell each film apart since the plots always seem to be so similar. Same problem the RE series has had but they keep releasing those too. This one looks no different.

David Diaz on Sep 8, 2016

A bit... underwhelming...

Nash on Sep 8, 2016

Oh great! Another "new war brewing"! Just like the other 4 movies?! This franchise is as bad as the Resident Evil franchise for continuing it's awfulness, HOWEVER: Kate Beckinsale > Milla Jovovich in black leather spandex.
