Shin Godzilla Trailer

"The Legend Returns…" Funimation has unveiled another new official US trailer for the upcoming release of Shin Godzilla, originally known as Godzilla: Resurgence in Japan (or also Shin Gojira), Toho's new rebooted take on the giant lizard monster. "Make way for the ultimate homage to one of the most enduring legends of the big screen—Godzilla! The King of the Monsters is back in Tokyo for a city-crushing crusade that speaks to the very roots of the world-renowned franchise." We've already featured other international trailers for this, but you can watch another one with even more footage below. There's surprisingly almost no shots of the Godzilla monster in this, instead it's all people in rooms and running around and freaking out, which is a bit odd. If you're still excited for this, you can get tickets now for its October opening. Enjoy.

Here's the full-length official US trailer for Toho's Shin Godzilla, direct from Funimation's YouTube:

You can still see the first two teasers for Godzilla: Resurgence here or here, plus the full Japanese trailer.

It's a peaceful day in Japan when a strange fountain of water erupts in the bay, causing panic to spread among government officials. At first, they suspect only volcanic activity, but one young executive dares to wonder if it may be something different… something alive. His worst nightmare comes to life when a massive, gilled monster emerges from the deep and begins tearing through the city, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. Godzilla: Resurgence is being co-directed by Japanese filmmaking legends Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (known for his visual effects for the Gamera trilogy). The screenplay is credited to Hideaki Anno. Godzilla: Resurgence first opened in Japan on July 29th this summer. Funimation will open Shin Godzilla in US theaters starting October 11th. Who's ready for this?

This actually looks decent. I feel like most Japanese movies look surprisingly underwhelming which is bizarre when you consider how good they are at everything else. Could be fun.

I dunno....this trailer is better, but there are very few special effects or monsters in it....the Japanese trailers which show a lot of the effects make the film look awful....the CGI is just not there.

Don't see the purpose of making it, but I understand some will like it. Which kinda leaves me speechless ...
