Live-Action Trailer for Doom

Fight like hell. This isn't so much a live-action trailer as it is an impressive VFX cinematic trailer, but it's worth featuring anyway. This new trailer is for the latest version of the popular Doom video game and it's made by director Joe Kosinski (aka Joseph Kosinski), the same filmmaker that directed Tron Legacy and Oblivion. Kosinski has been working on a number of projects recently including the next Tron sequel, a Black Hole remake, a Gran Turismo movie, and Twilight Zone, but in the meantime he has partnered with Bethesda Softworks to work on this marketing for the video game. Fire it up below and enjoy some action.

This video comes from YouTube (thanks to SlashFilm for the tip). "Celebrate DOOM's upcoming launch with our all-new live-action cinematic trailer. Directed by Joe Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy), the trailer evokes the pillars of DOOM's gameplay: Relentless Combat, Terrifying Demons, and Bad Ass Guns." The video game will be available for on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC starting Friday, May 13th. Kosinski has worked on promoting other video games previously with action-packed live-action trailers, including Gears of War, Destiny and the excellent Halo 3 teaser. Hopefully he directs another new movie sooner than later.

I could have cared less about him after that boring tron movie but after finally seeing oblivion I can't wait to see what he does next. That film is criminally underrated.

I thought oblivion was pretty boring and compared to the edge of tomorrow pretty lame.. Maybe it's no comparison, but edge of tomorrow was a hell of a ride.

Doug Liman directed EOT, not Kasinski.

I know, i was referring to Tom Cruise, sorry...

I agree, but wrong director

EOT was awesome. Now I want to watch it again lol. I didn't mind Oblivion tbh. I thought it was a good movie. Very slow pacing but I still liked it.

I loved Tron, but hated Oblivion. I thought Moon was a much better take on that concept.

MattPeloquin on Apr 1, 2016

You loved Tron Legacy? I.... thought I was the only one...

OfficialJab on Apr 1, 2016

I really did, the score alone is enough to make me love that movie, but the visuals and nostalgia put it over the top.

MattPeloquin on Apr 1, 2016

Yeeeessss!!! Daft Punk did an amazing job. M83 also did a brilliant job creating the score for Oblivion as well.

Tron Legacy is a favorite of mine! Oblivion.... meh...

EmagSamurai on Apr 4, 2016

Loved Tron Legacy too. I didn't mind Oblivion either. I thought it was well put together.

Cool little video for what will certainly be a shitty console port of a game !!!

Tester on Apr 1, 2016

Game looks fun and CG good but as far as directing? Pretty run of the mill IMO.

Why can't that make movies this cool?

Where's the Rock? LOL...

DAVIDPD on Apr 5, 2016

I've seen many video game trailers, and this just makes the new Doom look like some generic shooter. Watching actual game play is so much better than this trailer.
