Disney has launched a fun short film for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that is actually a commercial for the new toys and collectibles from this upcoming spin-off movie. Some have described it as similar to "Robot Chicken", with various action figures and toys and Lego minifigs being animated with stop-motion and other trickery in an adventure to steal the Death Star plans - just like the movie! No surprise there. The focus is on the badass new hero, Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones in the film. Director Krennic, played by Ben Mendelsohn, also makes an appearance as does the new droid K-2SO. This short was actually made by fans, and they've also launched a contest for more fan-made short films - find out more here & have fun.

"Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe," says Kathleen Kennedy. Rogue One tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. It's being directed by English filmmaker Gareth Edwards, of the movies Monsters and Godzilla previously. The screenplay is credited to Chris Weitz (About a Boy, The Golden Compass, Cinderella) based on a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta. Disney will release Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in theaters everywhere starting December 16th, 2016 this year. For even more Star Wars updates, click here. Ready?

THIS! THIS IS PROPER TOY MARKETING! I just hope they're the 3.75" inch figures, not the 6". And I'm working on my own scifi action figure stop motion animation project as well, I just hope it turns out 1/2 as good as this....
