Watch: Second Trailer for Paul Feig's Funky New 'Ghostbusters' Movie

"If there's a paranormal problem - we're the ones to answer the call." Sony has debuted the second official trailer for Paul Feig's new Ghostbusters movie, which is very vibrant and action-packed with funky ghosts, proton packs and ectoplasm galore. We've already met the new team: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, along with their new secretary, played Chris Hemsworth, who is revealed in this trailer to have a bigger role than expected. This is definitely an improvement over that first trailer, however some of the jokes are a bit cheesy, and some of the ghost effects look a bit glossy, perhaps on purpose. I'm sure opinions will be rather divisive, but it still looks like it's worth checking out. Have fun.
Here's the second official US trailer for Paul Feig's new Ghostbusters movie, direct from YouTube:
For more info on the new Ghostbusters, follow director Paul Feig on Twitter @paulfeig. Looking better?
30 years after Ghostbusters took the world by storm, the beloved franchise makes its long-awaited return. Director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today. The upcoming Ghostbusters movie will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as the new 'busters. The main villain is supposedly a "creepy mechanical genius". Michael Kenneth Williams and Andy Garcia also star. Sony Pictures will release this brand new Ghostbusters movie, directed by Paul Feig (of Unaccompanied Minors, Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy) from a screenplay by Katie Dippold and Paul Feig, in theaters everywhere starting July 22nd this summer.

You beat me to it. Feels a lot like Pixels. A group of comedic actors band together to try and save the world from supernatural (extraterrestrial) terror. It can't really be much worse than Pixels... and who knows, maybe it will actually be a bit better.

This is better than the first trailer. i like Melissa McCarthy(yes really) and paul feig has a great sense of timing the jokes. So i will certainly see it... Let the Ari bashing begin!

No bashing here. I appreciate the positivity.

We are all grown men here ( or so I suppose ). Thus I think we are just giving our opinion on this sequel-prequel-reboot thing. I don't like movies that try to sell you promises they'll never hold. Oh! And Feig isn't my cup of tea. Penis jokes don't make me laugh.

Ari, my man. I almost want to go to cinema with you and watch this and then, afterwards, laugh about it and get drunk for it. That's how good your post is ...

Ari my man you're one of the few positive folks on the board (shout outs to DavidPD and JonOdishaw as well)! No bashing here...I try not to judge movies before they come out and have been seen. It's led me to miss a few gems in the past...although I'm not so sure this one is going to fall into that category ha. You are right though, this trailer is an improvement over the first.

happy to see someone not hating on the film! I'm excited for this more now that we have a more promising trailer. this definitely showcases some less cringe worthy jokes and more of the ghost busting action that the previous films weren't able to create in their time. overall I think this will be a decent enough movie. not as funny as the original, but definitely a kick-ass ghost-busting flick with some solid nods to the original

Definitely respect your opinion. What bums me out is I like these ladies and characters as well but it looks very unoriginal, the jokes aren't clever and seem like low hanging fruit.
chuckpenz on May 19, 2016

yes indeed, the jokes aren't that good, but i have the idea when i watch the movie it's better. And with a Melissa McCarthy movie that's always the case for me. Liked Spy allot...

Well, to be honest, the first installments were also rubbish so, now, it's a bit unfair to discover this one for being the same ...

when you mention that the first installments "were rubbish" you're expecting some backlash. esp since the first and original is an excellent movie

Believe it or not, I am not. When I watched the original I was highly disappointed by it and that's what I think of Ghostbusters franchise since then: utter rubbish. And not only that, I think it's still very bad idea of story. Just as it was, for me, of course, back then in 1980s. Or, it's just bad execution of it, but I have no high hopes for anything better ...

All right, fair enough. I appreciate your opinion that it wasn't for you and that you didn't like the idea. One thing we can both agree on however is that neither of us is interested in the movie called "Ghostbusters" that is opening this summer in the theater nearby... I've read your posts before and some I like and some I don't, but either way you've got your own voice, and I respect that.

And I have to respond in kind. Since, your answer is also fair. The new 'Ghostubsters' movie is certainly not on my radar, you're right about that. Only possible (and hardly avoidable) reason to see that is the possible desire for it by my teenage daughter. That, khm, predicament made me witness some really ugly movie experiences in the past and is tough part of my life. But my daughter is much brighter prospect of it, so I endure sacrifices like that ... As for my posts, they sometimes depend on my mood and I hope they are more less coherent (but, that's also something I vaguely hope, of course, to be the truth). But, I pretty much respect your not disagreeing with some of them. Be free to express yourself about it in the future... I probably did notice some of your posts, too. If I ever react it on them, I hope I was polite ... Cheers ...

Most people who saw the originals (probably as children) would disagree with you. Regardless, whether or not they're rubbish, why the hell are they remaking it like this? The first movie was extremely original, and took everyone by surprise....this one does the complete opposite....

I should replicate Ari and said: let the banishment start. Well, I really don't see the difference between this one and the old one. To be honest, I was the kid when I saw the first one and was quite disappointed. No reason to feel different about this one either. Anyway, it's ridiculous and cheap idea. However, I respect if someone really likes it and thinks there's some difference between the old take of bad idea and the new one. Just not my cup of tea ...

My guess is you like movies like The Piano, Birdman, and other oscar winning critically acclaimed films. Pop movies are probably not your thing in which case you don't belong on this page and it's tough to figure out why you're even commenting.

Ehh. I wanna like it, I really do, but I just can't. Is this a better trailer, yeah it is, but the samples of the humor so far are weak and the movie just looks mediocre. I hope I'm wrong.

"Someone is creating a device that amplifies paranormal activity." Yeah, well someone created a movie that appears to be a bastardization of the original franchise right down to the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man at the friggin' end! I love all these actresses, but I'm embarrassed for them. THIS. LOOKS. TERRIBLE.

Looks like Sony have another mega-flop to look forward to. The director went bat shit mad the other day, claiming that people were hating on the movie because of race and sexism. Um. No. People are hating on this because this is what happens when a global corporation tries to make a politically correct movie. And most importantly, based on the trailers so far, this DOES. NOT. LOOK. FUNNY.

There's just no reason to reboot this movie the way they've chosen – aside from slimer and the ghostbusters uniforms this looks completely disconnected from the originals. The trailer isn't funny... the jokes I've seen so far look like low hanging fruit. The special effects look better but special effects wasn't really what made Ghostbusters popular.
