Beyond Short Film

"I can do this!" Another outstanding short film that is worth your time. This one is titled Beyond, and it's from writer/director Jeremy Haccoun (see @JeremyHaccoun). This is also exciting to watch because we originally featured this back in 2012 when it was looking for funding on Kickstarter, now four years later you can see the completed short film and it's impressive. Haccoun wanted to make an adventure film that hearkens back to the Spielberg movies of the 80s, like Indiana Jones and The Goonies, and he certainly achieved that. Even the score is pretty much a John Williams throwback. This is also the kind of fun film where a kid does something crazy, but pulls it off, which is cool because this should inspire kids to be brave.

Description from Vimeo: "Remember the early Spielberg era of the 80s? Indiana Jones? The Goonies? Are you hungry for more adventure films full of childlike excitement and edge-of-your-seat action scenes? Beyond is an epic adventure short about a family on a desert road trip. When a rock fall traps his parents inside a burning car, a 7 year-old boy must find the hero within him in order to save their lives…" Beyond is written and directed by Jeremy Haccoun; we originally featured this when it was on Kickstarter years ago. Starring Aidan Flynn, Jolene Kay, and Michael Dane; with cinematography by Sergio Arguello and music by Siddhartha Barnhoorn. Visit the official website for additional info. Music was definitely straight from the 80s! I enjoyed that.

It was better than Jurassic World.

Great sense of urgency and music cues.

Great video. Is there a YouTube link for this. This format is terrible and slow...

If you're having problems with Vimeo, there's something wrong with your computer and/or browser. Vimeo is the *best* video service out there, better than YouTube. Update your computer/browser and it should be fine. There is a YouTube, but Vimeo is much better quality. Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h32WY0GoU4&feature=youtu.be

I don't like vimeo. It used to suck . Maybe they've improved the player,

Not sure what you're talking about... There is volume control and playback control with a timeline at the bottom. That's why Vimeo is great, it works as fast as YouTube and you have complete control. And if you need more control, watch the video on Vimeo.com and it's all there.

Alex Billington on Sep 8, 2016

Did you check the video of the indie film "37" ? Definitely no volume control or timeline.

tarek on Sep 9, 2016

Ah I see... I think that's something the video uploader can control, they can remove that access (which is pretty crappy). I have no control from my end. Which sucks... But in general/overall, Vimeo is still the best. Even better than YouTube, especially when it comes down to video quality.

Great little short. Really enjoyed it....even had a few feels. But seriously, talk about shitty driving....you're in the open desert and your drive next to the only vertical wall for 1,000 miles....the one with loose rocks all over it....

That's one bigass tank, I mean, it was like 500 Liters of gasoline, at least...
