First Trailer for Animated Sequel 'The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part'
"Oh no… Something new. What is it up to?" Warner Bros has debuted the first teaser trailer for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, the sequel to the wildly successful and highly acclaimed original The Lego Movie released in 2014. This one isn't directed by Phil Lord & Chris Miller, but they did write the screenplay and they did produce it, so they're definitely still involved. This time around, the citizens of Bricksburg must fight off Duplo invaders from outer space. The voice cast includes Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Stephanie Beatriz, Elizabeth Banks, Channing Tatum, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Jonah Hill, and Tiffany Haddish. WB already made two other Lego "spin-off" movies about Batman and Ninjago in the meantime, but they're bringing it back to the original story about Emmet Brickowski and Wyldstyle. This may only be a teaser, but it looks great already. The amusing Mad Max-esque opening is funny, I dig it. Check it out below.
Here's the first trailer (+ poster) for WAG's The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, from YouTube:
It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: Lego Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the Lego universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part Trailer is co-directed by filmmakers Mike Mitchell (director of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Surviving Christmas, Sky High, Shrek Forever After, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, and Trolls) and Trisha Gum (an art department coordinator now making her feature directorial debut). The screenplay is written by Matt Fogel, Phil Lord & Chris Miller. Warner Bros will release The Lego Movie 2 in theaters everywhere starting February 8th, 2019 early next year. First impression? Your thoughts on it?
The first one was kinda Matrix-y and now Mad Max-y. It's true, everything is awesome...again!!!

Nobody will crucify you here Bo, people who don't like you are the same people who don't like others with the experience and with the taste. And that's something you definitely are, a connoisseur of things in films. As you might said, these things make some people insecure. However, I tend to like people like you and I keep spending time with them. And no, my daughter doesn't like this film(s) since she sees it as too wacky for her taste while I see it as some kind of irony of super hero films, modern animated films and many other things. So, I might see it without her at some point. This one is a bit different, but I agree it's not for everyone. And in that respect, I absolutely respect your understanding for other tastes. Definitely peace ...

Everything is cool Bo. One of the differences between me and you is not just another cultural background but also age. I just see some ideas for films differently than you. No need to make a big noise about it. Since talking about it is interesting, sometimes even more than just watching those films we're talking about. Which is cool, when it's happening with you or with tarek (who just resurfaced. Looks like one just needs to call him) and sometimes with some other people (not necessarily on this site). Anyway, cool speaking to you again Bo ... Cheers ...
