The Addams Family Trailer

"These people are monsters! They'll ruin the neighborhood!" MGM has revealed the first full-length official trailer for the new animated The Addams Family movie, which is co-directed by Greg Tiernan & Conrad Vernon, the same two filmmakers behind Sausage Party most recently. We all know The Addams Family already, thanks to the many TV series and various live-action films from the 1990s. "Funny, outlandish, and completely iconic, the Addams Family redefines what it means to be a good neighbor." This time, the voice cast includes Oscar Isaac as Gomez, Charlize Theron as Morticia, Chloƫ Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Elsie Fisher as Parker Needler, Bette Midler as Grandma, and Allison Janney as Margaux Needler. This trailer is a big improvement over the original teaser, though I'm still not sure if it really has that classic Addams Family vibe. It's more kooky than spooky.

You can still rewatch the first teaser trailer for MGM's The Addams Family here, to see the original reveal.

An animated version of Charles Addams' series of cartoons about a peculiar, ghoulish family. Get ready to snap your fingers! The Addams Family is back on the big screen in the first animated comedy about the kookiest family on the block. Funny, outlandish, and completely iconic, the Addams Family redefines what it means to be a good neighbor. The Addams Family is co-directed by veteran animators / filmmakers Greg Tiernan (of Happily N'Ever After and the Thomas & Friends franchise) & Conrad Vernon (of Shrek 2, Monsters vs Aliens, Madagascar 3 previously) - they both directed Sausage Party together most recently. The screenplay is written by Matt Lieberman and Pamela Pettler; based on the characters created by Charles Addams, originally as one-panel cartoons for New Yorker. MGM + United Artists will release The Addams Family movie in theaters everywhere starting October 11th this fall. Looking good? Who wants to watch?

The more Addams Family movies they make, the better the old TV show looks. Hard to beat the chemistry between John Astin and Carolyn Jones.

Exactly the voices and nuances I found missing.

Agreed. For instance, I like to think I stand aside for no one in my appreciation of the late Raul Julia. But even he couldn't match Astin's maniacal smoldering.

" maniacal smoldering" lol

I support this claim.

These people should not be making movies. Do not hire them again. Do not give them money. Send them back to college, or better yet, give them lifetime jobs at the nearest McDonalds.

I actually laughed. Yeah, I know, that doesn't sound good, but what can I say ...

Looks like a hit for MGM. I won't be seeing it, but yeah, looks like it's going to do well.

So whats up with TOTALLY failing the soundtrack? Rap and hiphop is not Gothic, spooky or fitting. Akward!
