Universal Group has unveiled an official US trailer for a music documentary film called Dawn Raid, made by Samoan-born New Zealand filmmaker Oscar Kightley. From the producers of McLaren and The Dead Lands, Dawn Raid charts the rise of Dawn Raid Entertainment and its two founders Andy Murnane and Brotha D - the unlikely duo behind some of New Zealand's biggest hip-hop and RnB artists including Savage, Mareko, Adeaze and Aaradhna. From humble beginnings selling t-shirts on the streets of South Auckland, Andy Murnane and Brotha D formed a legendary partnership that would defy the odds and become music royalty both at home and across the world. Following its release in New Zealand and Australia last year to critical acclaim, Dawn Raid, an unmissable watch for Hip Hop fans and gripping underdog story of how New Zealand’s first Hip Hop label became a success against all odds.
